It's been said on here 1000 times...just comply to the officers demands. Officer knew the victim, and victim had a rap sheet.

BRIDGETON, N.J. (AP) — With the dashboard camera in their cruiser rolling, police pulled a Jaguar over for running a stop sign on a dark night. But things suddenly turned tense when one of the officers warned his partner that he could see a gun in the glove compartment.

Not sure I would call "Jerome" a victim, but he did spend 13 years in prison previously for shooting at state troopers. I think the officer was justified in using his service revolver. Very important to listen and obey officers instructions in a traffic stop.

Video is unclear. Did his hands come up? Did they come up after he looked to be doing something else?

 

Getting out of the car didnt help Jerome's case either. Aggressive moves are not good.

Looked like the officer on the passenger side pulled the gun in question out of the car early in the video.

 

He clearly didn't have anything in his hands when he stood up out of the car, but you can't tell what was in the car when he got out.

Very clear the officer did not want Jerome to exit the vehicle.

Pertinent part of the story:

 

"Reid, 36, spent about 13 years in prison for shooting at three state troopers when he was a teenager. And Days knew who he was; Days was among the arresting officers last year when Reid was charged with several crimes, including drug possession and obstruction."

 

Kind of explains why the guy might have been a little edgy. You'd definitely think that this guy knew the drill. The other guy in the car definitely knew it, and wasn't shot at.

The officer on the passenger side was clearly trying for a long time to keep that door closed, and told him multiple times not to get out, and told him to keep his hands up which clearly he did not while he was in the car. You would think that if someone spend 13 years in prison for shooting at three state troopers, that he would want to comply with the orders at once, as well as don't be anywhere near a gun, especially when there are cops arounds. And as Clyde mentioned, it's not a good idea to get out of a vehicle aggressively.

 

Two suspects in the car, and as JW24 mentioned, one complied from the beginning, he wasn't shot at and is fine.

Any idea what he was arrested for last summer? They said multiple charges.
