NineOh Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Colonels win in a rather boring game. Stephens got the win, Houlehan closed it out, and Blazjeweski homered.
cshs81 Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 Highlands is solid - not great - but very solid. For the most part, their D looks solid. The pitcher #12 was solid as well. I only saw 12 players on the roster - that was a surprise.
Champs05 Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 CCH played good, I was suprised how good Highlands was without 5 or 6 of there seniors. On a side not the game was delayed right before the 7th with CCH 2nd baseman Connor Larkin going down with a concussion and having the Ambulence come to the feild. I hate to see some one go down hard like this.

I feel for Conner, same thing happened to him last year when he was behind the plate and involved in a colission with Vince Murray from Ryle. Best wishes for Conner, he's a great kid and he has proved time and time again he is not afraid to stick his nose in there and get the job done. Keep us posted on how he is doing.

Champs05 Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 Where are the seniors ??????? The Seniors were on Spring Break!!

Well what actually happened was he was running to first and he tripped over the bag/1b foot and landed straight on his head. He actually got up took a few steps than just hit the ground. They say he should be out for atleast one maybe two games. But the coaches know its going to be hard for him to sit on the bench, he loves to play.
Old Soda Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 They must really want to be team players if they are on a trip during break.
tdyballgame Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I've been away from watching highschool baseball for awhile, but I certainly didn't think it was boring. It was a very good pitched game by both starters. Saw some very good defensive plays from both teams. As it stands right now, HHS is right where the new coaching staff thought they would be. I'm sure they would like to have the Conner game back and to even be IN the game with a program like CCH says a lot from where HHS has come in just a year. New blood at the top has changed the attitude in everyone involved in the program. On the kids that are on spring break. The old policy under the old coaching staff was you could go on spring break. The new coaches agreed to let these players leave because of monies put down by parents for their trips well before the new staff came on. Starting next year, there will be a new rule in place. And you will see HHS become a contender year in and year out again. It takes time to break some old habits and you can already see a difference. I wouldn't count them out for this year either.

Its the right move by the new staff. What impact does football have on baseball at HHS?
cshs81 Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I heard Connor Larkin was able to attend the prom last night so he must be doing alright. BTW, the big boy playing 3rd for HHS moved better than you would expect. He made some nice plays on bunts.
benihanas Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 Connor was at prom and after-prom and even played some basketball soccer and ultimate frisbee with no real signs of pain.
