Boone County Needs Head Coach

Featured Replies

As I mentioned in the other thread, Nathan Browning announced his resignation on Friday to the boys in a short meeting after school. This was followed up by an email to the parents.

The JV and Freshman coaches had announced immediately following the season that they were not coming back to coach next season.

Boone County currently has zero soccer coaches. Needless to say, this has created a huge void for the Boone County Boys' soccer program.

I feel bad for the boys who will return for their senior season next fall.

Any suggestions for a new head coach? lol

I am having trouble keeping this to myself but Boone County will be making an announcement soon. I know a name but do not know the person so I am interested in what the NKY soccer experts know but will wait until the official announcement.

Why did Nathan resign?

So that's Football, Boys Soccer and Girls Basketball all open at Boone??? What is going on over there?

Nathan resigned back in January. It was in another thread on open coaching positions.

PioneerPride: as of around Thursday of last week the head soccer coach position is no longer open. I do believe that JV and Freshman positions are still open, though I am not certain of that. I am not certain what happened with the soccer program except that all the coaches have young kids and are involved in other sports and coaching opportunities so it made it hard to be away from family as much as coaching the high school soccer team required.

In football, Coach Griffith got a chance to go to a position where there is only one school in the county and it is back more towards where he is from. Perhaps he also saw that the Boone program is not going to turn around in the next couple of years. Bottom line: greener pastures.

Football is still open. I didn't know that girls; basketball was open.

Boone had a nice squad last season. Hope those boys get a solid dedicated coach to keep them moving forward.

If what I was told, is true, it is a name that NKY soccer experts will know.

Oh, shoot... apparently my info was wrong. I should have just asked you, OTB. Okay, nothing to announce here. :wacky:

They named the coach a month ago, maybe just haven't released it publicly yet.

Not a month ago. Maybe a week or so ago. I know who it is but I haven't seen any kind of announcement by the school so I've been waiting for it. Perhaps it is common knowledge by now. The players also know the name.
