Owensboro 81 Muhlenberg County 36

Featured Replies

I've not really kept up with the other 3rd region teams outside of the 9th district this year, but Muhlenberg Co. is usually pretty good. I realize that Owensboro is really good, but I'm somewhat surprised by this score.

Owensboro is average.have talent but as many have reported, lack motivation at times....Muhlenberg is kinda down this season...Owensboro lost two games at KOB...the loss to Wayne County came after being up by 18 in the 3rd quarter... They were overrated in the preseason polls..there somewhere around 15 to 25 I think in the latest polls.

Mule burg played within 1 of Knott County Central....Owensboro dominated them without Justin Miller

Is miller out for season?

No sick from what I heard...OHS looked incredible tonight

OHS 2 losses were to Wayne and a close one to Doss

Owensboro has played multiple games without PG's Phillips and Harris. Including the KOB. Tonight the Red Devil guards played really well. Owensboro is a top 10 team in the state IMO. Idk if they're top 5 thgh.

For comparison sakes. Owensboro beat Christian Co by like 40 at Christian Co. Christian Co beats Doss who most feel is a top 10 team. Owensboro beat Daviess Co by 17-18 at Daviess Co. DC beat Henderson Co. So while Owensboro has dropped 2 games it's not any different then other top teams. They're 2 losses are actually probably better then some other top 10-15 teams.

nice.

Make no mistake about it, OHS has top 5 talent and have a state championship potential. They have all of the tools. They have the inside game with Holman and Miller, one of the best 3 point shooters in the state in Darion Morrow and solid PG play in both Phillips and Harris. Add in the shooting of Pendelton and Sanford(who have been consistently shooting very well) and they are VERY dangerous state wide. Yes, they do have an effort level problem at times, but who doesnt? They have been playing a zone defense all year and it can bog them down offensively, but they have shown a different energy level when playing man to man full court. I have to wonder how much of that is them just not wanting to show other teams what they can do just yet? Either way, this is a team to keep an eye on going forward.

ApolloFan98 - I agree for the most part with everything that you have said with regards to the Red Devils. I think they are a point guard away from being scary good. They do have a effort issue, sometimes a couple of kids do take plays off. But for the most part their length creates a ton of problems for most high school teams. Holman inside what shots he doesn't block the rest of them he alters. There are only 2 schools in the 3rd region I think can beat them, and they are both in the 9th and only one will be going to the region.

Most likely the 9th will be OHS vs. Catholic and DC vs. Apollo in the 1st round. I look for Owensboro and Daviess County to come out and face off in the region final as well.

Owensboro ends the year with Apollo, Bowling Green, Trinity, Hoptown and Henderson Co.
