Hotels near Kentucky International Convention Center

I have an event to attend in March at the Kentucky International Convention Center and looking for suggestions on hotels in the area (walking distance). I will have my kids with me so would prefer no more than a couple of blocks. Looked like there was a Hampton pretty close, also a Hyatt. The Mariott right next to it seems to be a little pricey.

Any suggestions?

Hyatt and Galt House are near by. In fact, i think you can get to the convention center from both hotels without having to go outside via pedways. Hyatt is across the street. Doesn't get much closer than that.

Within a couple blocks you have Hampton Inn's, Mariotts...plenty of options.

Not many options. The Courtyard is nearby.

You're thinking of the Fair and Expo Center. Different place.

The Kentucky Int'l Convention Center is in the middle of downtown Louisville and there are hotels everywhere within just a few blocks.

JCVD's recommendations are good. All those spots are within about three blocks of the convention center.

Just checked the Hyatt, they want $299 a night. Looks like I'll be walking a few blocks.

At the Galt House they'll likely be close to a $100 less. That's just North of the convention center. Same for the Hampton Inn that just East of the center.

Just checked the Hampton and it was $179. This is likely where I'll end up unless we decide to just stay away from downtown and drive in.

Does that Hampton have a parking garage?

I don't think so, no. The city's not very built up east of Second Street so they'll have surface parking surrounding the hotel.

I've never paid more than $180 there. I stayed there as recently as NYE.

If he's coming in during a weekend and for en event that's large enough or if there are multiple events downtown that weekend, rooms in excess of $250 wouldn't be very shocking.

It will be for the NASP state tournament. Last year there were over 4100 kids shooting over a two day period.

The cheapest rate they list for the dates I need is $270/night but you have to prepay and no refund. I could book a room there tonight for $179.

Yeah that'd do it. There are a million parking lots and garages within a few blocks of the Convention Center. It wouldn't be too bad to drive in from a hotel in the 'burbs. You might even find a couple nice prices across the river from downtown in Jeffersonville, Clarksville, New Albany...
