Wonder who is in the running for this job?

It would only make sense that Coach Baker gets the job. He did a great job at Breathitt and has been an assistant their the past couple of years. Powell's admin. would be crazy to look to anyone but him.

I agree with that. Baker deserves a shot at the head job. He already knows the kids, and their progress, and has head coaching experience at other schools.

I think he will be the front runner based on several reasons, but i believe the school may look outside for a new coach. Coach Coldiron is a good coach and will be missed. But you all are correct Coach Baker is also an excellant coach.

Any ideas on who has applied or inquired besides Baker?

I can only hope that (IF) Coach Baker wants the job; it would be his in Powell County.

Agree, from personal experience, a coach that the kids know already easily is better with the team and keeps the team's chemistry while substaining each individual's trust on th team.

Switching coachs' every year isnt fun , with Bakre you know what your getting.

Is Coach Coldiron retiring, is he taking another job, or is he being forced out?

Coach Coldiron resigned at Powell County, as did freshmen Coach Lawson. Baker should head the list of applicants. Many rumors are going around Stanton about other coaches from 14th region teams. Coach Coldiron wants to coach again according to the Lexington Herald.

Heard ColdIron had put his name in for the Wburg job?

Coach Coldiron is an excellant basketball coach, he got a somewhat raw deal, but someone will pick him up and make themselves an great addition to their program. That being said good luck to Powell County in finding the right replacement.

Raw deal? I don't understand??????

I have heard several names mentioned and I hear there are several quality applicants.
