I understand why this would be tough on smaller schools to do this timely, but schools like Scott Co shouldn't have any trouble.

They have live stats during games, so posting seems like it'd be pretty easy.

I agree for the most part.

 

Completing the task in fewer than 48 hours is tough for the small schools. However, all schools have been playing for 3 weeks now. Even the smaller schools could have completed stats for one game by now.

 

Still 59 schools out there without ANY stats.

 

Scott County has now posted stats.

Still think baseball and softball should be required to provide stats as well.

 

And then people would argue over hit/error decisions. Baseball scoring can be slightly subjective. This is why for regional tournaments someone with knowledge of the rulebook is designated as the official scorer and it isn't left up to individual teams.

That is one of the things that people enjoy most about the game of baseball.

 

Seems like the schools that are following the rule are putting themselves at a disadvantage. Your opponents can look to see who are your leading scorers, who your best 3 point shooters are and who to foul and not foul. Schools who don't follow the rule are gaining an advantage by having this information about there opponents while there opponents do not have access to these stats. If KHSAA does not enforce rule then shame on them!!

For all your complaints. If they make a rule then it should be enforced. Reporting teams playing non reporting teams are extremely disadvantaged. Especially if they have no scouting elements, but on the flip side, how we're successful teams and the 60s 70s 80s and 90s able to accomplish so much........ It's all frivolous

Here's an interesting possibility (although extremely difficult to enforce and will never happen). When a non-compliant school plays a compliant school, the compliant school gets two free throws before the game starts.

As I recall from my rules clinic (and I coach none of the sports required to post stats, so I really don't know why it was included in my clinic anyway), if a school does not keep any type of stats, then a waiver can be requested. However, it was noted they expected those waivers should be few and far between. I'm sure the number of teams on the "naughty list" is much higher than the KHSAA would expect and I would guess few if any have completed the waiver process.

What is most puzzling is that many of the schools on the "nice list" have not submitted stats for every game. Also, many of the schools have placed the team stats and not the individual stats for each player.

 

For example, GRC plays Russell County tonight. Russell County placed team stats, but did not place individual stats.

How is this fair?

Take North Oldham off of the "naughty list". This leaves 58 teams.

 

They placed stats for their last 2 games, but did not place any stats for their first 10 games in 2014-2015.
