Trinity 70 Sierra Canyon 59 (City of Palms)

Featured Replies

Not to take anything away from Trinity because this games rocks, but Sierra was missing their best player (or #2) in Ira Lee (6'8", 230).

KY has shown very well against the nation's top teams and Trinity, Ballard, and Hopkinsville have the chance to continue that this weekend.

Sierra will be amazing with the amount of top fresh and soph they have.

Great win for trinity they are becoming a perennial power..Great to see a Kentucky team doing well

I think there are a few rankings with T in the top 25 and Canyon in the top 5.

Grassroots had Sierra ranked #14 and Trinity ranked #18.

Updated FAB 50 National Rankings

From City of Palms HOOP SEEN Blog by Justin Young:

Sierra Canyon (CA) came across the country with a team that is young but talented. So talented, in fact, MaxPreps has the team No. 5 overall in the country.

Louisville (KY) Trinity didn't care too much about that number. The Bluegrass State team knocked off the West Coast program in impressive fashion, collecting a 70-59 win.

Future Louisville Cardinal Raymond Spalding had a quiet but effective day, scoring 12 points, grabbed siz rebounds and blocked three shots in 19 minutes of work. Christian Thieneman, a Marshall signee, scored a team-high 14 points while Jax Levitch pumped in 12 and D'Angelo West added 12 for Trinity.

Cody Riley and Devearl Ramsey were quite the pair for Sierra Canyon. Ramsey was the fastest point guard in the event so far while Riley was the most impressive post player.

In fact, Riley was as physical of a big man we've seen this year. We're talking high school and travel ball. The long armed lefty uses his size and strength to establish the post. He scored at will on the low blocks and punished Spalding in the paint.

This is what we have been talking so much about for Spalding at the next level. He has some work to do, I hope he puts in.

Here's the fourth quarter action.

Here's the fourth quarter action.

Thanks for posting this, Avid. What time does T play today?

Also, do you know the reasons behind Szabo not putting rebounders on the 3-second lanes when T is shooting free throws? I noticed this in the Cov. Cath. game, too. Is it to defend the fast break? Seems T is forfeiting a chance to get a rebound.

Ya certainly not the first time I've hear that on here.

It is interesting that Riley is an 18yr old sophomore though.

Damn.

They play Oak Ridge at 2:30 which is Antonio blakeney's team. I have no clue why Trinity does anything they do .

I'll be glad when this season is over and I can go back to hating everything about Trinity.

Not to look ahead or anything, but if they manage to win today they would most likely play Ben Simmons and Monteverde on Monday.

C'mon, Avid, it's the Christmas season. Soften that Tiger heart a little.
