December 15, 201411 yr While not "official" due to all paperwork being signed, it appears that Buffalo Wild Wings is probably coming to Pikeville. The city manager is working with the Schmidt Family Group to bring a new restaurant to Pikeville and they've been working on it for a couple years. * The location has been set and already signed off by the franchise (which they say is a huge deal). * Building design has already been engineered and worked out * Lease has already been worked out and all that's left is negotiating the price. The SFG operates 3 restaurants and those are Buffalo Wild Wings, Wendy's, and LaRosa's. The city manager noted that while he could not say what restaurant is coming he mentioned that Buffalo Wild Wings is one operated by that group. Other note that the SFG also owns the Buffalo Wild Wings in Morehead, KY. The city of Pikeville also passed an ordinance this past Monday that allowed alcohol sales in restaurants and stores on Sunday's after 1:00pm. That has to help with this.
December 15, 201411 yr Congrats.. Try the mango habanero wings, they are sweet then spicy.. they are my personal favorite. It would do a great business imo, the two in the ashland area are are always packed. Funny enough, we dont actually have one in Ashland.
December 15, 201411 yr Big fan of the spicy garlic sauce. Caribbean jerk is good as well, nice sweet burn to it. Several locations in my area, and none of them are empty. Seems as if the newer one in Newport/Ft. Thomas stays packed most all the time.

December 16, 201411 yr They haven't announced a location? Surely it would be by the arena. Doubt that. I assume it'll be in or around the new shopping center.
December 16, 201411 yr Author They haven't announced a location? Surely it would be by the arena. Absolutely no room there. Not a great area for a place like that due to the lack of constant events in the Expo Center. Will be located near the new Pikeville Commons Shopping Center, Walmart, etc. Ton of traffic through that area now.

Order a beer at kickoff and it may arrive by the 2nd quarter.

December 16, 201411 yr Author Where is this area located? I've not been to Pikeville in a few years. It's said to be going around where Tractor Supply, Burger King, etc. is....Basically opposite side of Wal-Mart. Pikeville Commons center is actually surround 3 sides of Texas Roadhouse. Right now it has Hobby Lobby, Marshalls, PetCo, Ulta, Ross, Dress Barn, Justice, Kay's, Asian Bistro...There are more shops coming and only a few of those are actually opened as the rest of the ones mentioned should be in the spring. Another rumor, it's for the shopping center, is a Jimmy Johns...Never ate there and we have a Penn Station so I don't know the similarities or differences.
December 16, 201411 yr Another rumor, it's for the shopping center, is a Jimmy Johns...Never ate there and we have a Penn Station so I don't know the similarities or differences. Jimmy John's is pretty good, I prefer Penn Station though. Penn Stations fries are great and they offer more options for subs. Jimmy John's works in urban areas with multiple locations, due to their quick delivery. Ashland only has one and its delivery area doesn't even cover the entire "downtown" area of Ashland. If you take away their delivery service, its just an average sub shop, imo. I live in what is pretty much the center of Ashland and can't get delivery here. KDMC which is on the downtown side of Ashland can't even get delivery, yet areas of Westwood can. Jimmy John's made their name on their delivery service, but their system is flawed. Fries arent an option, but you can get a pickle and a bag of chips. They will even cut the pickle for you though. I guess they assume we don't own knives.
