There was a "Civil Emergency" message sent out to hundreds of folks in Kentucky yesterday morning.

 

It was explained as an accident.

Odd..There was a long lasting rumble around the Ashland area on Sunday. It lasted several minutes and in my opinion was a very fast flying jet. The last time I had heard anything like that around here was when F16's were scrambling to track down the plane that crashed in PA, during 9/11.

Just read an article saying a Russian spy plane will be flying over the US mainland this week. If I had to guess, that was the long lasting rumble heard in the Ashland area.

Agreed, the refinery here was once on USSR's "hit list" for places to bomb if a war ever actually broke out though. That said, after doing a little research on the plane Russia will be flying, it wouldn't be what was heard in this area. It's more less a 757. What was heard here was clearly moving much quicker and at a higher altitude than this "spy plane" is capable of. There have been reports the past week or so of the same type of sound/rumble up and down the east coast though and the UK, though.
