He drove right. Spun back left for a turnaround jumper only to find someone in the way. Went with the scoop shot.

 

Crazy.

Really good 33rd district battle. Conner led by 1 at half. By 2 after 3. Cooper went up in the 4th and it stayed around 4 points. Hemmerich had a 3 that did everything but hit the floor before it bounded out that would have cut it to about 2 with under 2 minutes left. From there it was a free throw battle.

 

Great environment. Kudos to the Cooper folks including the PA announcer. Really fun night of ball.

 

The PA announcer is great, he also did the soccer matches at Cooper last year. If you want a real treat, you need to hear him sing the National Anthem.

Sidenote: Apparently every girl at Cooper is a cheerleader. I think they had to cheer in shifts tonight. Good golly!

That was SICK! OMG lol. I swear as he spun I don't think he realized he was still 5feet from the basket yet still out it in over the defense, was unreal. Still shaking my head.

 

For or anyone who wasn't there, the best I can explain the shot was like a spinning underhand layup except when he went underhand he was still 5 feet from the basket and still made the shot lol.

 

Not a shot I would want to try and make in a game of HORSE!!!

Cooper did a great job individually and collectively on defense. I think one aspect Jim Hicks will point out to the boys is they lost a lot of 50/50 balls to Cooper.

 

Hendrix did a nice job tonight running the team. Handles it well. Passes well. Penetrates well. All he is missing is a consistent jumper and he'll be a bear to deal with.

 

I agree on the 50/50 balls, there were a handful down the stretch that all went to Cooper, one even by McNeil on his own missed free throw. I think if Conner could have gotten some of these it would have been even tighter the last 4 minutes.

This was a great game. I am interested to see the rematch as Conner was missing a starter, Barnes, with an ankle injury. His ability to hit from the arc was missed last night and Cooper did a good job on Scott. Excellent game!
