D'Angelo Russell : Did the state of Kentucky not want him?

Featured Replies

Watching him now play with the Buckeyes and the kid looks like a future NBA player.

Did the Cats or Cards not want him?

UL offered. Not sure if UK did.

I don't believe Kentucky ever offered him. Not sure about the other in state schools. That said, what makes him look like a future NBA player?

I don't recall UK ever being heavily involved. OSU was the odds on favorite from sophomore year on...

Good size at 6-4, strong scorer at all 3 levels, plus feel for the game, active perimeter defender. He's on the NBA radar for sure...

Have you seen him play? He'll get drafted one day and have an opportunity at the next level.

Nope, I haven't.. Which is why I asked the question.

I don't think it was a situation where they didn't want him. Probably more of one where Ohio State came in and showed the love early and they didn't want to be perceived as losing him to someone else.

You should watch OSU next time you get a chance. He is a very impressive player.

I appreciate you answering the question. He sounds like he could be one that snuck under the radar.

I'm watching now, looking at the score I may have tuned in too late.

He was a 5 star recruit for 3 years. He isn't sneaking up on anyone. Some kids you know right away, and I knew right away the first time i saw him play at 15 years old...
