How successful would they be?

They did beat a Paducah Tilghman,that beat Graves County,that beat Bowling Green away.

 

If South Warren's main reason for their success is enrollment numbers,then what happened to these 5A Schools?

I think they'd have finished 2nd in their district behind BG (would've said 3rd at beginning of the year before WC imploded), and I think they go out in the second round at Graves.

I agree. I think a meeting with Graves County could go either way.

FWIW, had the KHSAA stuck to their provision on raising or lowering teams that had a 15% change in enrollment midstream, South Warren could have been moved to 4A before last season. If they were in 4A, I think there's a chance they would still have been region champs. For certain I think they would've won that district, and would have had two interesting matchups with Madisonville and Owensboro. Had they gotten by that, I think they'd have had a clearer path to get to the finals than they do now.

It looks like 5A isn't very strong. Simply being in district with BG would have hampered SW's success. I think Beechwood and Mayfield would both win 5A.

BG who??? They are not unbeatable as was proven by Graves County. I hope everyone making noise come out to watch THIS South Warren team play in Louisville. They are A LOT Better then you realize.

As I've stated in another thread. PT was not healthy Friday. I don't think they would have beat SW but it would have been much more competitive. The QB was 60% at best with a severe high ankle sprain. Plus various other dings. SW front seven were stout. In 5a I think there out in the second round.

You said they would have lost the second round 5A game to Graves but "certainly" would have won their 4A district.

 

Graves lost to Franklin-Simpson.

The past few years without a doubt SW would have got hammered by B.G.!

This season I'm not sure which team would come out on top.It would have been a battle of the defenses.

I personally think this year 5A is up for grabs. There really isn't a clear favorite at all.

Do you know if Graves County was in full strength against P.T.?

Which team in the second round of that region do you think would take them out? Excluding B.G.

Doubt it, but I don't do hypotheticals.... In reality, South Warren plays Louisville Central in the Semi Final this week... That's the only thing that matters right now. Go Spartans!
