Wow! What a comeback. Congrats Oboro!

WOW! I quit following the thread because I thought MNH had it in the bag

MNH is a great team...this felt like a state championship game...Owensboro had 4 TO's a couple when driving deep in Madisonville territory. Great 2nd half defense for Owensboro ...could hVe tied it at 28 in the 4th but went play action for a 2 pt conversion...beautiful pass by locher and catch by Weissand I think for a 29-28 lead. Owensboro had Madisonville in a 4th and 4 and the fire off a 50 run. OHS stuffs them at the goaline twiceand takes over with 2 minutes to go...fake punt and run by locker for first down and great punt and defense at the end....wow!!! Great calls by prince on some situations. Madisonville is a top 5 team in 4a...sorry anyone had to lose

Instant classic. This game had a little bit of everything. Down 21-0(14 of those off OHS turnovers deep in Madisonville territory), OHS battled back. Locker played his guts out tonight. He scored on an unbelievable run with about 4 minutes to go. Madisonville responded by driving to the doorstep of the end zone only to come up short to end the half. To me, this was a huge sequence in this game. Shoulders poor clock management really shot the Maroons in the foot. I felt like if Madisonville scores there, it could have been lights out. Instead, OHS gained even more momentum heading into the locker room.

Shift to the 2nd half and it was all OHS. They opened the half by driving down and scoring a TD to cut the lead to 7, recovered an onside kick and scored again very quickly to tie the game. After Madisonville scored off another turnover, OHS answered with a score of their own and instead of taking the PAT to tie, they go for two and convert. A Joe Prince classic. Madisonville then took the ball 70 some yards to the 1 yard line where OHS made an epic goal line stand. The Devils punched the ball out to the 11 but short of the first down by a half a yard. Prince decides to go for it on 4th from his own 11, but OHS jumps offside. Backs Locker up into his own end zone to punt, but instead of punting it rugby style, no one picks him up and he runs 12-13 yards for the FIRST DOWN!! Unreal. Madisonville would get the ball back late only to be picked off by a returning Arius Phillips to seal it. Fitting end for that young man.

What a ballgame. One of the best ive been a part of in a long long time…….congrats to the Devils!

Highlights shown below - what's missed is the beautiful on-side kick recovery for Owensboro - #12 Gardner actually catches it in full sprint and takes it to the house - although by High School rules, you can't advance it...OHS then tied it at 21. Big W for Owensboro despite driving multiple times and turning it over. Madisonville has great athletes and IMO was a top 5 4A team.
