Got to wonder how much that injury impacted the team as a whole on both sides of the ball.

IMO if Sindelar doesn't get hurt Caldwell still wins...Murray got some late scores when Caldwell was pressing that inflated the score a bit.

I really hated to see him get hurt because this was a very good football game even after he got hurt. The wheels did fall off when Cain started cramping up. Big Mo swung right after that.

I know this will sound like sour grapes, but I really think Caldwell would have won the game if Sindelar had played the whole game (I know, if a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his but when he jumps...) Anyway, I think that Caldwell had worked a gameplan on the Murray secondary and was combining it with an effective running game. The Caldwell defense did well in the first half, but had two bad breakdowns where they let a speed Murray player get behind them. Murray is good this year at drawing coverage up to contain the run, then passing over the top.

Even after Sindelar's injury, the Caldwell offense was running well. Cain is an awesome all around athlete, but without the deep threats it looked like Murray made some adjustments in the second half, plus I think Cain got injured/cramped up/outta gas. With Caldwell still leading going into the 4th, I thought we were going to maybe hang on. Too many bad bounces in the 4th - the pick 6 pretty much ended the game.

I think the loss of Sindelar disheartened the team - how could it not? I hope he makes a rapid recovery.

I think Murray has a tall task ahead of them in DeSales. They are a completely different kind of team than OCath and Caldwell, that's for sure.

Good luck and take care.

While the Sindelar injury dramatically changed the game, Caldwell was up 14 - 0 at the time. They were able to hold that lead into the third quarter. Dee Cain played like a beast, as he had in the previous game against Union Co. With him still playing both sides of the ball, it came back to haunt the Tigers. Cain just not in that type of shape. Once he cramped up, the game turned once again and Caldwell just couldn't recover. Until that point it seemed as if Caldwell had the game going their way despite the Sindelar injury. Murray played extremely well in the fourth quarter against a gassed and undermanned team. I would put a lot of the loss on the coaching staff of Caldwell. They had a good game plan coming into the game, but were not able to adjust. The lack of key players playing the whole game the entire season showed up in the fourth quarter. I realize you can not run the score up on weaker opponents, but you can play defense against them. If the D scores so be it. By letting some key players play some defense in the 8 blowouts the Tigers had this year you not only let them get in game time, but get them much needed experience for situations just as what happened Friday night. I absolutely believe they would have had their hands full with DeSales this week, but might have come away with a win in what will be the 2A championship game. Murray could again get crushed this Friday night.
