Boyle County 2014/2015

Featured Replies

I was there. I saw it all. Like I said, if you win this year don't embarrass our region.

hmmm. Seven point loss with three starters fouled out. One of them early in the third. Total of 30 fouls on six man rotation? Nothing to be embarrassed about.

Two double digit losses. By your standards what does that say about you?

No wins ever at state .... use your standards and evaluate yourself.

I can't wait til the REBELS shut this dude up

We are not that deep of a team. We've shut you up the past three years.

Sounds like excuses to me. What went on is you went to Rupp and got your butt beat and left with your tail between your legs

We lost by seven. We beat you twice by double digits. Apply your reasoning to that.

When I go to Wayne County 2014/15 thread talking crap to you then worry about my standards. You are in this thread talking crap to us. Now, Wayne County has been ranked high in the top 10 this season and last and have yet to "prove" they are worthy of those rankings. I'll tell you this, if Boyle County wins the 12th this year 1.) it won't be Wayne County who beats us and 2.) we won't embarrass our region when we get there.

Take notes this season. You may learn something.

You guys were the better team than us last year but you dropped the ball at Rupp for the second year in a row. Pretty simple reasoning.

This team is good! Elkins is back Tuesday, he's worked on his game and also added 20 lbs of muscle in the offseason. Can't wait to watch them with everyone playing.

Can't we all just get along? Although I do appreciate the comic relief I get from reading this thread sometimes. Lord knows I need it, haha.

By your standards you have always been an embarrassment. You have never won a game at state. This year you've played Burgin (0-25 last year) and Spencer (9-21 last year). What are you worthy of playing those teams? We don't rank ourselves. Guess people don't like you very much.

Can't win with players on the bench. Our main player fouled out in the third with a total of 14 minutes played. Our best defender fouled out with 18 minutes played. Not anything for us to be ashamed about. The best team doesn't always win. I remember #2 Kentucky getting beat at Tennessee 77-78 and then beating Tennessee 16 days later at the SEC tournament 101-40. Kentucky had 23 fouls called on them in the loss. Wonder what the score would have been if they had 30 fouls called on them with 3 starters fouling out and the other two having four fouls each? We did pretty good to be that close.

If you want to blame the refs for your ineptiutde at Rupp then be my guest. Good luck this season. I'm loving the target on the back of red and black. :thumb:

The best always do have a target on their back. Ineptitude is unskillfullness resulting from a lack of training. Bad calls are part of games at every level. I was laughing at the comments about us not doing well at Rupp. The numbers speak for themselves. No team can win when the odds are decided before the game. I'm looking forward to the competition in the 12th this year. About time we had some good basketball. Too bad some teams continue to increase their chances of winning with the addition of outside talent. This is all too common a problem due to the lack of control the KHSAA has over its member schools because of the legal system. Even Cordia gets to play 15 games this year with all the infractions they had. If you can't enforce rules things tend to escalate. I've heard all the negativity on this site when enforcement of the rules are mentioned. All the whining about it isn't fair to the kids. When kids work hard to have a good team so they can win the region, why should others be allowed to circumvent the rules? If Wayne County doesn't win the region this year, the next best choice would be Lincoln County. I don't know of any transfers into their program.

"This is all too common a problem due to the lack of control the KHSAA has over its member schools because of the legal system. " Aint that crazy? What kind of country are we living in when the courts have power over administrative agencies to ensure those agencies' rules and actions aren't arbitrary and contrary to the law?

I have a ton of respect for Wayne County and the tradition of their program. Heck, I'm still picking Wayne to win the region. However, to defend Bylaw 6 and bash others due to transfers sounds a lot like whining to me.

It is whining.

You can only pick one team to win region though. Time to make it official. :D

That's a tough standard as none of the top teams have played each other this year. If you're using last year as the basis for that standard, then you have to go Wayne, then Lincoln with Southwest then Boyle on the outside looking in. The problem is that approach doesn't factor in new players and/or coaches. In reality, I go Wayne, Boyle, Lincoln, Southwest. And, if all goes well at Boyle, I expect the Rebels to cut down the nets when all is said and done.

I agree this win doesn't make Mercer a top 4 team. I think West Jessamine still has a say in who is at the #5 spot. I expect that Mercer, with a new coach and only 2 players that got varsity minutes for them last year, will be inconsistent at least through the month of December. However, they have the pieces to be a team that no one wants to face come tournament time.

Pick one. :D
