2015 State Title Contenders

When you are defensively out of position (like he was all day) the refs will call it everytime. I would say that he was used to playing against smaller teams and could get away with just his length but Trinity was one of the "longest" teams in the tournament and standing upright all the time just doesnt cut it.

Are you being serious? I just watched the replay. Third foul he's straight up and the ref waits on Spalding to miss the shot before he blows the whistle. Here's the link, #3 happens at around the 1:08:00 mark of the video. #4 is at 1:21 and isn't really what I'd call a "state tournament foul", much less one to foul out a team's star.

Lincoln Co. They do a good job of controlling the pace of their games behind one of the better pure point guards that you will see at the high school level. Last season they had wins over 4 other teams I listed and they return pretty much their entire team. They are definitely a long shot' date=' but I don't think any more so than a couple of the other teams that have been mentioned.[/quote']

Still the same coach from the past several years?

Yes.

I'm not a huge basketball guy in terms of knowledge for LexCath but how do you feel they compare? If they are good enough to make it out of the 11th then they would be good enough to win it all IMO.

Sorry, I just don't see it. Unless you mean a long shot to win the region?

Who else in their region can contend for the regional title?

They are definitely not a long shot to win the region. Most people have Wayne favored, but I think it's a four team race (possibly 5) with Lincoln Co, Boyle Co and Southwestern likely challengers. It wouldn't be a surprise to see any of those teams, along with possibly Mercer Co winning the Region title.

I'd guess a lot of people would agree with you not seeing Lincoln Co as posing any threat at all, but I would caution against forming too strong of an opinion that is just based on their name or reputation if you haven't seen them play.
