I can't believe more people aren't talking about this matchup! I think that has the chance to be one of the best games of the night this Friday in Franklin. The Wildcats are led by senior speedster Jerry Billups and a very aggressive defense that flies around and makes plays as an entire unit.

 

Madisonville meanwhile is loaded. The Maroons have a solid qb in senior TJ Phaup, but the weapons dont stop there. At the skill positions rb Jaron White and speedster Ryan Bowman pack a deadly punch that can score from any point on the field. Up front Madisonville features WKU lineman commit Cullen Reynolds and Chauncy Gilmore who's listed at 6'3 260 but I'd be willing to bet a big fat benjamin he's bigger than that.

 

This game being in Franklin gives FS a home field advantage, but the Maroons are playing some great football of late. Madisonville seems very focused on getting their rematch with Owensboro and seeing if they can ride the train all the way to BG in December.

Who is the big DT/Nose for Madisonville?

I would rather play MNH next week @ Rash than FS away. That said, this should be THE best game in the state IMHO. I think Madisonville wins in a squeaker...a PAT may be the difference:

This is one of the best games in the state this weekend - no doubt. I put it at #2 right behind Male vs. Trinity.

With the predicted cold weather, I think running the football will be perimount. That said, I like Madisonville's big line to wear down Franklin, but there will be turnovers in this game and if the Wildcats can get a few breaks, I could see it being VERY close.

Tough one to call as Franklin has been very solid all year, but I'll take Madisonville 14 - Franklin 13.

Mac, you make a great point. I've been telling everyone (even on our radio show) that Madisonville from a talent standpoint is as impressive of a team as I've seen (including BG). Madisonville is a scary outfit and if they're clicking, I'm not sure anyone on this side of the state is gonna keep the Maroons from WKU in December. Obviously FS has a great team in their own right, and I fully expect the Wildcats to put up a heck of a fight this Friday. Shoot, I wouldn't be shocked if FS won, but the way the Maroons have been playing lately, I gotta roll with Madisonville.

That's why they play the game. I'll take FS's JV 20-14!

I like Madisonville in this one. Madisonville had their way with Hopkinsville while FS had to squeak by in OT. Madisonville has size and speed.

Macdon, you kill me, not for one second do you think anyone can beat FS let alone Madisonville. But its good to try and get the FS kids fired up. Both teams will be ready for battle and as in the past few years it will come down to turnovers in a hard fought game.

I knew Mac was bluffing. I'm sure that's what the FS coaching staff is feeding the kids. They're telling them that no one thinks they have a shot. FS is a very good team, but Madisonville is scary talented. The problem for the Maroons has been mistakes and execution. If they're clicking......watch out.

Madisonville had over 700 yards of offense in a blowout of Hoptown.

 

FS had to come from behind in the last two minutes and win in double OT.

I like Madisonville in this one. Madisonville had their way with Hopkinsville while FS had to squeak by in OT. Madisonville has size and speed.

 

FS had their way with Greenwood, while Madisonville barely beat Greenwood. FS 2 sloppiest games all year (penalties and turnovers) were wins over Greenwood and Hopkinsville. If FS plays smart football with few mistakes as they have most of the season, they will be hard to beat. Madisonville has brought 2 teams with more talent to FS in '11 and '13, but FS won both games. I'll say FS 27-21.

Their QB scares me.
