Keeping the talent in Erlanger is always an IF.....I could list for you some of the kids that should have gone to LMHS but moved away or elected private schools, and it would make you cry. They would be seniors and juniors now (for the most part) and all of them are play-makers for 5A and 6A schools in the area.

NCC is solid, year in, year out. They are a go-to school for lots of reasons.

Lloyd - on the other hand - is not.

I sincerely wish the Juggs nothing but the best. But as for another state title in my lifetime, I'll have to see it to believe it.

This is our nkysports.com game of the week....watch live or on demand below:

Lloyd v Newcath Webcast Link

This could be a trap game for NewCath. They can't be looking ahead towards Newport/Walton winner next week. The Breds need to eliminate the personal foul penalties to have any shot to move onto next week. NewCath needs to have better play calling on the offensive side of the ball as well. NewCath is becoming to predictable on offense and this will be a problem facing well coached teams moving forward. Lloyd can win this game if NewCath allows them to hand around into the second half.

Most of Lloyd's varsity starters are sophmores, juniors, and some key freshman. There are only a few seniors on the team. Yes, loosing Molitor to graduation stings a bit, but next years starter at qb should be #14 , RUNION. He is a tremendous athlete. I compare his game to newport's Price. Coach Turner has the program heading in the right direction with a much harder nondistrict schedule starting next year (the team has just finished up coach Stratton's schedule). I think this team will improve to the point that the 2016 will be a strong contender for Lloyd's third state title.I know many NCC fans will laugh at this, but if they keep their talent in Erlanger, watch out.

I wouldn't laugh at that, Erlanger and the surrounding area has always had great athlete's.

Erlanger is full of talent and it has been for years but they don't seem to keep the kids at Lloyd. If they can keep the kids in Erlanger and get them to buy into off season workouts, anything can happen. I think NewCath is going to have some trouble getting the kids that they normally rely on down the road due to the tution costs. It could be a three horse race next year with Lloyd, Newport and NewCath.
