The district tournament occurs after the regular season and is used to determine a championship. Can it be any more simple or clear?

Ive had this same conversation last year until I was blue in the face. For some reason a few who don't like the fotball playoffs and try and use baseball etc as an example conviently want to it ore the fact that every baseball team makes the playoffs and so do all the basketball teams. They want to ignore that dirstrict tournament is actuall the playoffs. Because it goes against their argument they ignore it. He has been wrong all along, the playoffs start as soon as the regular season is over.

Any upsets tonight? If so, how does each upset rank? If there were no upsets, is it time to do away with the 1st Round, or is the current format a good thing?

The stat was posted in another thread that 15% of the first round games were upsets. Another 13% of the games were competitive. That equals out to 28% of the first round games being competitive.

I'll say this, winning a region title in basketball is getting closer and closer to being on par with winning a state title in football......32 team vs 16 teams.......
