What Happened In the Holmes Ashland Game?

So did Coach Nevels come all the way across the field to confront the Ashland coaches? I mean that's not "nothing." That's something.

There was a picture of Holmes sideline 3 minutes prior to kickoff showing Holmes wasn't there yet. What time did they arrive?

Sounds like a HUGE deal to me.

Thanks for sharing again.

HUGE as in get the coach on the phone ASAP if you're in Holmes administration. You need to know immediately what happened? A ref got hit? That's not a "wait until Monday" thing.

Nevels is a class act he probably told them what was going. Holmes I believe is down to 25 players.

Not sure how that relates to anything. It's a huge deal for a coach to cross the field to confront another coach. Either it didn't happen as reported or the officials let something happen that should NEVER happen.

I see where you deleted a post here:

Where did we delete anything?

Honestly I have no idea how to delete anything from this forum runner app I'm using.. If I did, I had no idea I did it, which I appoligise if I managed to do that.. I did try to edit post in the update threat though.

Sounds like things are a bit out of control in the Holmes camp. I believe one player earlier in the season took off his pads in the middle of a game, dropped them on the field and walked up to the locker-room.

To my knowledge he did.. The Ashland coach was on his own sideline, they had to be separated once the Holmes coach started pointing his finger at coach Loves chest.

I'm with Clyde on this, a coach can't go to the other side of the field and get in the other coaches "business" or having players hitting officials.

Sorry to say it, but if true, this might be the end of Coach Nevels stint at Holmes if this is the case.

I have said this before and I'll say it again, if anyone, a parent, coach, or player hits an official there should be jail time and banned for life from youth sports. If that did happen.

By a ref got hit I'm not being specific, because I'm going off from the radio broadcast.. They mentioned that a Holmes player removed his helmet and hit a ref. Whether they threw their helmet off and it hit the ref or they physically hit the ref I don't know.. I do know that the player was ejected from the game and with a short running clock the officialls ellected to let the game end in a huddle.

According to a few peeps I know inside Holmes, there was a good chance it was Coach Nevels last game before this went down tonight, this doesnt help. Have to know the whole story, if he was defending his players for something he saw on the field that was wrong, thats what he should do, but there is a right and wrong manner to do that. Wasnt there, didnt see it, so hard to say.

Ive been told the helmet to the official was not a direct attempt to hit the official, just a HS player getting emotional and it led to a brush into the official. (note this is from a Holmes parent so it might be bias)

Have to be careful on how you define "hit" but agree in part with your premise.

When the Holmes coach confronted the Ashland coach it wsa the second time he was on the field and the player contact with the ref was not an accident nor was his contact with one of his coaches. All this disappointed me, but so did Ashland having their first team defense on the field after the score that started the running clock after Holmes mishandled the kickoff and was nearly on the Ashland goal line.
