RCC, i think looking at scores you have a point to question BG. I go back to the beginning of this season when BG was an unknown commodity from the standpoint that they lost 8 starters on offense and 8 starters on defense and you wonder what you will get because the mass majority of these players saw very little minutes last year.

BG's defense is better this year than in the past 3 years IMO. Tonight Pulaski's points came on a kickoff return, not scoring on the defense. BG's offense is no where near where they have been in the last 3 years. IMO the offense has overachieved all year.

5A is WAY down. Warren Central and John Hardin in particular are below where they were the last 3 years. I say that because they typically give BG the biggest challenge. Since they are down it makes BG seem better.

Against Greenwood, a team across town, who would litterally give their right arm to beat BG and has lost all of the 22 games they have played against BG, I thought BG's offense had maybe their worst game of the year. Campbell Gott, the QB, in particular - who has played unpredictably well this year, struggled with a couple picks.

So I don't think BG will impress you significantly this year with big scoreboards, BUT you will have to score on, IMO, the best defense in the State to beat them.

I would loved to have seen this game with a Healthy Hall playing for Pulaski. Not saying Pulaski would have won, but we all knew they had almost no chance without him at QB.

 

Hall is a special player and could have made some things happen IMO.

Not wishing PP but we all know BG owns 5A now that Highlands has left it but you have to look at it from you side as well that it wont be a cake walk now that Highlands is coming back.

No, no, no...But why can't I be curious about them after seeing the last two weeks. Just questions. Means nothing to any HHS fan this year.

 

I think last weeks game against Greenwood was their worst game of the year. Too many turnovers. Greenwood has never beaten Bowling Green since they opened the doors in 1991. We get their best game every year. Also, their head coach, Chris Seabolt was on Bowling Green's staff, when he took the Greenwood job. He's pretty familure with the Purples program. Familiarity didn't help Feggins tonight against Highlands, but I think it helped in Greenwood's case. Tonight's game was played in a mud bowl. Is it against the law to cover the field with a tarp in Pulaski County? I got there an hour before the game and it looked like they had just ran the hogs off the field. No wonder they moved the ESPN game to Madison Central! The game was never in doubt. Bowling Green dominated defensively and had to play conservatively on offense, because of the field conditions. Pulaski County has a very good defense and it kept them in the game. Their offense fell apart after Gregory went out. They basically lined up in the Wildcat and gave it to their big linebacker and ran it right at the Purples defense. It would have been ugly, if it was played on a dry field. There's my take on the last two games. I think this Purple team will be just fine, but thanks for asking.

I honestly will be shocked if he makes it back...the most optimistic reports I've heard, have said week of the regional finals.

BG is easily the class of 5A, no one will come close to them unless weather slows them down. Simply too strong for everyone.
