October 31, 201411 yr Feds go after Bundy Ranch and more of southern Nevada. Bundy Ranch: Feds Retaliate against the Bundy Ranch and the Southern Nevada People Federal Register / Vol. 79, No.197 Notice, outlines plans to make the Bundy ranch and most of the rest of Southern Nevada, Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACECs). 90 days from October 10th, 2014 these proposals will become federal law without consent from the Nevada State legislatures or the people of Southern Nevada. Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACECs) are human restricted management areas. ACECs have been a tool used by the federal government to gain further control of large masses of western lands and the resources. As proposed, nearly 3 million acres in Southern Nevada will be locked away from the people. This includes most uses on the land (recreational, agricultural or otherwise).
October 31, 201411 yr Just Desserts for an IdiotWhat an amazing reaction to a brutally tyrannical action by the federal government. So the federal government restricting the use of 3 million acres of land by all Americans to punish a single American citizen (or, as you described him, an "Idiot") is justified? Whenever I start thinking that Obama is the biggest threat to liberty, one of his fanatical supporters reminds me that Obama is just a symptom of what ails this country. The real problem is the tens of millions of voters who put him into office twice.

October 31, 201411 yr Just curious. Do you go "worst case scenario" with every obstacle that life presents?I am an optimist. Eventually, the country's citizens will come to their senses and stop looking at the federal government as a problem solver and realize that it is the source of most of society's ills. I even have hopes that liberals will realize one day that Media Matters is a Democratic Party clearinghouse of propaganda and not a legitimate news source.

Once the midterms are over, Obama is going to do what he wants without any care for...well, anybody. He obviously won't care about a Republican lead congress. He won't care about other Democrats who are trying to win re-election. He won't care about the majority of the US population because he thinks he knows what is better for the country than anyone else. I just hope the Republicans get control of the Senate so bills can now be sent to Obama to either pass or veto (Harry will not be able to hide things under his desk any longer) and everyone in both houses will now be forced to vote on bills (and be on the record). The vote next Tuesday is very important to say the least.

The winning strategy is to send Obama bill after bill that has already been passed by the House and force him to sign or veto the legislation. The question is whether the Republican Party has the will to endure short term pain for the good of the country.

If the GOP wins Senate control next Tuesday, why would anyone assume that a Democrat minority in the Senate will roll over? Either way, the obstructionism will continue until 2016.
October 31, 201411 yr How will these bills pass the Senate? If the GOP wins Senate control next Tuesday, why would anyone assume that a Democrat minority in the Senate will roll over? Either way, the obstructionism will continue until 2016. If the GOP wins the Senate, then it will only take 51 votes to pass them. If Democrats want to block votes on the bills, then Republicans should hold a press conference immediately following each cloture vote. Some of the House-passed bills will have bipartisan support in the Senate. The GOP should make sure that every voter knows which party is responsible for gridlock if gridlock continues. My guess is that Democrats will feel some pressure to support some of the GOP bills or at least offer reasonable compromises to get them passed. Incumbent senators running for reelection will not commit political suicide by continuing to support the lame duck, Outlaw President in lock step going into the 2016 campaigns. Hillary will be sniping at the president, and her supporters in Congress will help her create the illusion of distance between her positions and those of the president.

All it takes is 41 Senate votes to block. Over the past six years, the GOP has set up an effective working model of obstructionism. No need for the Democrats to reinvent the wheel. Just pick up a copy of the GOP's playboook. GOP control of the Senate likely only lasts two years anyway.

Is this more of your Media Matters propaganda? Most of the blocking that has been done in the Senate has been done by Harry Reid. As Majority Leader, he has simply refused to allow votes on legislation passed by the House of Representatives. Not only that, in most cases Reid did not allow Republicans to propose amendments to bills originating in the Senate by Democrats, which assured that many of them would get no Republican support. Harry Reid is the obstructionist. The House did its job by passing bills and sending them to the Senate for consideration, but Reid refused to allow them to be discussed in many cases. Speaking of playbooks, Democrats passed Obamacare with no Republican votes and invoked the "nuclear option" to get extreme left wing judges confirmed with only 51 votes. A Republican Senate could choose to make a similar rules change to force votes on whatever legislation that they want to send to Obama. If Republicans invoke the nuclear option for legislation, then they could quickly bury Obama's desktop with stacks of bills awaiting signing or vetoes.

Agreed, he is also the person behind all of the Bundy Ranch issues. It doesn't matter though, those with their head in the sand will keep it there. BUSTED: Harry Reid Owns 93 Acres Next to Bundy Ranch | Truth And Action I dislike Harry Reid more than any other politician (including Carter and Obama). He is a despicable politician and appears to be just as bad a person as well. Whenever I see him talk, I don't wonder how he gets re-elected every term by Nevada...I wonder how he gets even one vote. It just amazes me that anyone can look at him and listen to him and say - "yeah, I want THAT GUY to represent me"...
