When does your HC insurance enrollment period start?

Mine starts on November 3rd-November 14th. Premiums on average are going down, as the company cuts from 4 tiers to three. The biggest savings is on the bottom tier, but my premiums will go down about 5%. The problem is my deductible remains the same, $3000 for the family. The bigger problem is my prescription plan remains tied to my deductible. I pay full negotiated price until my deductible is satisfied, then I only pay 20%. Although I do take some meds (about $70 per month) unless something major happens, I'll never meet my deductible. And my son needs epi pens, which when the plan changed last year went from $60 to $350. I'm just going to funnel my premium savings into my HSA.

Just found out that our premiums will actually go down next year. We are self insured and for 2014 our claims were down for the first time ever. Savings will be passed on to employees in the form of lower premiums.

Completed mine today!

Now until 11/15

Fyi......new healthcare regs are referred to as. "PPACA"

Does that mean the folks in Alabama and Alaska are........wait for it

"AL-PPACAs"

Just got my benefits packet. Premiums are up 4%, but since they are very, very low already, it's a $35.00 increase annually. I can live with that. We're switching to Anthem (HUGE plus for me). Dental insurance is switching and will be MUCH better than what I have now. Health plan deductible & Rx Deductible stay the same at $500/$300. Co-insurance Co-Insurance Additional Out of Pocket maximum goes up to $1200 from $800 and Total Maximum Out of Pocket goes up from $1600 to $2000. After meeting the Total Maximum OOP, there are no office visit copays or coinsurance fees for prescriptions for the remainder of the year. The Maximum OOP under the prior plan had a lot of exclusions, so much didn't count toward the OOP Max, prescription co pays, office visits, medical equip, chiropractic care, dental, etc. Now, most of those things will count toward most of those to be counted toward that Max OOP. Which is a change due to ACA. Another plus for ACA.

I am honestly absolutely thrilled. I was already thrilled to be switching to Anthem. But I expected a 10-15% increase, which I was fine with.
