Thursday Night Football at Holmes High School

Game time is 7:00.

It's the 2nd straight Thursday night "tilt" for the Breds as it's the battle for bragging rights among the 2A district rival "fish-eaters", as NewCath (3-4, 3-0) takes on it's neighbors from across the Licking River, Holy Cross (1-7, 1-2). The Indians are lead by Jr. QB, Hamilton Scott, So. RB, Xavier Abernathy, Sr. WR, Tyler Arlinghaus & Sr. TE, David Lampke.

NewCath has dominated this series, which began in 1999, with a record of 19-2. The Indians beat the Breds in a 1A regular season match-up in 2006, 10-7. Then in the 2011 2A Regional Finals, 24-21 as the Indians would go on to claim the 2011 2A State Title. Since that 2011 victory, the Indians have fallen on hard times with the Breds going 3-0, by a combined 149-10.

What say you?

No contest. Holy Cross has no weapons on offense and very young on D. Breds in a running clock before half

I know we always want to discuss our teams and it's always worth talking about what our teams need to do to win the next game. But there are some games, that no fault of their own, have nothing to talk about.

I wish both teams well, and pray for no injuries by either. But predicting the outcome, well in Vegas this would have no line.

If the Breds show up at Scott High School, the Indians have a chance...since the game is scheduled to be played at Holmes High School. Scott has some soccer thing going on and Holy Cross got booted out. Holy Cross has had a crazy time this year with home games being rescheduled. Their last game is a home game against Campbell County, but instead of Scott, it will be played at Campbell County on Halloween. By the way, Thursday's game against NCC is Senior Night for the Indians.

NCC with running clock in the first half. HC is getting worse on defense by the week

The Holy Cross stats team will provide live stats, box score, and play-by-play updates (unfortunately, not free anymore since a game subscription to the NFHS Network is required - don't shoot the messenger because I'm not crazy about it either). The latest box score/game summary with links to stats will appear in the middle of the page on the day of the game. If you don't care about LIVE, you can still go to the following page to get score updates. Full stats, box score, and play-by-play will be provided free after the game has been completed (available in the post game thread).

Finally, if you just want updates automatically sent to you during the game, we have also tied this website to our Holy Cross football Twitter account. For those that follow us, we will automatically send out tweets on all scoring plays, at the end of each quarter, and at the end of the game.

@Hcindiansfb

Is it possible for a moderator to change Lawnboy13's post #1 to state that the game is at Holmes High School (not Scott High School)?

NCC put up 36 in the first quarter of their last game and called the dogs off, that won't happen in this game. If the Breds can put up 36 each quarter they just might do it. This will be NCC's highest scoring game of the year until they get in the first round of the playoffs.

Why do you say that? Is there animosity between the two programs?

I think a little

NCC won 48-0 last year and did not score after there was 9 minutes left in the third quarter so I don't think they are looking for any high scoring records. I think they would be happy to get to a running clock and pull everyone just like last week.

That won't happen. The BREDS coaching staff has more class than that. They would never intentional run the score up like that.

I guess we'll find out Thursday night!
