I'll give this much. There were a descent number of cards but no reds. This game has historically been one that is full of bad blood and animosity and it showed tonight.

 

One minute you have players wanting to play physical and nothing called the next thing you know they get hit with a gust of wind and want a red card.

 

From someone that watches this game from a fairly neutral perspective as I rarely have a dog in the fight. This game was brutal to be a ref on for sure.

 

Seemed like he couldn't get into a rhythm of being able to both let them play and control the players that wanted everything called.

 

I'm sure others will have more colorful descriptions of the events but suffice to say the goals were all scrappy and the play matched it. Not much artful soccer tonight.

Sounds as if Scott made BB play their brand of soccer and Scott plays it very well....I hear ya on the tough to ref comment. In the games I have seen, I would have to agree.

I agree 100% with you on your take. One thing ill add is it also seemed that the players for both teams struggled to get in a rhythm because of how inconsistently he was calling it. Very strick at points and letting things go at other times.

Horrible refs. They failed to control the game from the start and it was like a rugby match. They would look the other way when a player was assaulted then hand out a yellow for players getting upset over the no-calls. A lot of players on both sides had legitimate arguments for the dozens of no-calls. These weren't tricky-tack fouls either. The numerous no-calls added fuel to this already heated rivalry and it took away from two great teams from playing great soccer. The refs are to blame, period.

By the way, I'm neutral here and have no rooting interest for either team. But, wow! I was totally impressed with the skills, speed and intensity of both teams. The Region 10 finals will be awesome between these two teams.

Without having seen Montgomery this year (I did see them last year), I doubt they can hang with BB or Scott. Too much fire power from these two teams.

Seen all 3 play this year... I would put all 3 of them well ahead of the rest of the 10th Region.

 

I think MOCO only has 2 losses this year, one was a 2-1 loss at PLD.
