ColonelCrazy Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Covington Catholic jumped out to a big lead and NCC would never get it back. Both teams battled hard, but NCC never could get it to less than 10, really. Danny Noll had another good game for the Colonels, but this was another TEAM win for Covington Catholic. Gesenhues had 22 for NCC. CCH wins the 9th for the 2nd time in 3 years...
ColonelCrazy Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 Correction: NCC did get the lead down to 7 points at one point tonight...
BigColonel Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 :ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper: Great job COLONELS Great job by Rob Detzel and the Breds to make a run and get back in it. CovCath was just too much down the stretch. Both teams have A LOT to be proud of.
cshs81 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Gesenhues had 22 for NCC. ... Gesenhues is on any team I put together for any sport. I like tough kids and he's tough.
ColonelCrazy Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 CCH will play 1:30 PM on Thursday afternoon.
ColonelCrazy Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 All-Tournament Team for the 9th Region: Ludlow - Dan Penick Conner - ??? Highlands - Jeff Vories, Tanner Johnson Dixie Heights - Sam Lawson, Josh Keener Newport Central Catholic - Kevin Bueter, Scott Gesenhues, Zach Kiernan Covington Catholic - Tim Tierney, Michael Young, Todd Jacobs MVP of the 9th Region Tournament: Danny Noll
cshs81 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 MVP of the 9th Region Tournament: Danny Noll I like to see good things happen to good boys and DNoll is 100% "good boy".
ColonelCrazy Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 CCH: 10/22 6/11 from the line 5 rebounds 9 fouls 6 turnovers NCC: 9/19 3/5 from the line 5 rebounds 8 fouls 3 turnovers Those are the 2nd half stats...
cshs81 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I really like how Kiernan's game is coming along. You don't see many high school "big men" who catch it in the post and then face up and make a move.
BigColonel Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Beechwood - ??? Beechwood wasn't in the regional, it was Conner
ColonelCrazy Posted March 12, 2006 Author Posted March 12, 2006 Beechwood wasn't in the regional, it was Conner That's what I had. Anyway, I missed who their representative was and did not recognize him. Congrats to Coach L & the Colonels. They've worked hard and improved a tremendous amount throughout the season.
BigColonel Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I like to see good things happen to good boys and DNoll is 100% "good boy". He's come up big in the 2 biggest games of the season. Let's hope he continues it on Thursday.
Theoldguy Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Colonel Crazy, I am sure you will be at the game Thursday afternoon? :thumb:
Bluesport Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 :dancingpa 2 out of 3 years. I'm sure the rest of the bluegrass will be thrilled to see the Colonel Crazies back at Rupp again.
