Getslow Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 It's all over Twitter right now. Haven't heard audio yet. Anyone out there listen to this?
Getslow Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 He's getting blasted. Described as "unnecessarily combative". Literally the only way for this race to even be close is for McConnell to shoot himself in the foot down the stretch. I don't know yet if this interview will be the start of that, but it doesn't sound good.
Clyde Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Here is the interview. Listen to Senator Mitch McConnell on Kentucky Sports Radio | Kentucky Sports Radio

I haven't checked it out yet so I have no idea how it went.
Getslow Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 I'm three minutes in and I can't believe it. 1) Why did he even begin to indulge Matt Jones' ridiculous nonsense? 2) What's the point of getting combative with a guy who hosts a fanboy sports radio show? 3) During a segment about which UK player is his favorite, he starts talking about Obama. SOP for McConnell.

I agree but someone on the staff has to tell him who Jones is and not to indulge it when he gets ridiculous. It's like seeing these guys on Stephen Colbert's show... someone can tell you who he is and what he does so that you don't come off like a buffoon.
Getslow Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 When he gets settled in, there's some decent substance in this interview. I wish the senator hadn't started by jumping all over Jones and basically yelling at him.
75center Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 There ought to be a law against candidates going on sports talk shows. Man, we can't escape them anywhere!

I haven't listened yet, but Jones has spent considerable radio time the last few days lambasting McConnell & his people for promising to come on the show & then failing to live up to that promise.

Fair enough, but then when McConnell did finally come on, according to them it appears McConnell's people called in at the last possible minute with no warning or time for the KSR guys to prepare.

I read they called 10 minutes prior to Sen McConnell coming on the air.

Well at least that shows some brains. No courage, but brains.
lawildcat Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Once he settled down, Mitch did ok. Not much love for Mr. Jones, that's for sure! LOL
