theguru Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 1. Belfry vs. Christian Academy of Knoxville (TN) 2. South Warren at Adair County 3. Corbin at McCreary Central (10/9) 4. Bourbon County at #8 Garrard County 5. Central vs. #10 Elizabethtown 6. Bell County -- OPEN 7. Paducah Tilghman at Fort Campbell 8. Garrard County vs. #4 Bourbon County 9. Mason County at Russell 10. Elizabethtown at #5 Central
4chs Posted October 6, 2014 Posted October 6, 2014 I'm sold on Belfry being #1, not sure who the other contenders really are. They all seem to be either unproven or inconsistent.
Bac2369 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 PT is too high. They have 5 losses. I do think there worthy of top 10 but there most creditable win is over Graves Co.
Bac2369 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Henry County is 2 points of being 6-0.. I think they are deserving of the top 10. Adair County is 6-0 but there schedule is pretty weak. Henry County schedule isn't to bad but not great but there only loss is to Holy Cross Louisville and they have lost 1 game as well to Desales.
PTHSalumni Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Tilghman usually plays a tough schedule, which is why their win/loss can be a bit misleading. The 2009 State title year can attest to that. PT has been their own worst enemy for about the last decade. You can't start off with a first and ten and end up with a third and twenty and expect to win. Hopefully Coach Rogers can put an end to the mistakes and put them back on the winning track.

Name one other team in 1A thru 5A that has played a comparable schedule ......1 ......just 1.....It wont happen. This team is young , unexperienced, with a new HC and a new system. The fact that they have been putting up points in every game and beat a couple of these teams and continue to fight doesn't bode well for the rest of 3A. They will at least be in the final 8 teams left in 3A....
ATLCat Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 . They will at least be in the final 8 teams left in 3A.... I mean yeah obviously. Their region is painfully weak outside of Tilghman and South Warren. Reaching the Regional Finals would be a major shock only if they lost at this point. No doubt PT's schedule is rock solid though. I'll be the first to admit I haven't given them enough credit for the Evansville Reitz game. To me I thought Reitz looked weak, but they are 7-0 and rolling so my observation clearly was false.
flashdaddy Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 ATLCat you are very in tune with 3a. If and this is a BIG if PT get by South Warren and advance to the regional finals....Who do you think they meet?

ATLCat Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 ATLCat you are very in tune with 3a. If and this is a BIG if PT get by South Warren and advance to the regional finals....Who do you think they meet? I am leaning Lou. Central as well. Don't think this is your vintage Central team by any stretch, but think people are sleeping on them a bit after that Lafayette game. Usually Lafayette beating them would be an indictment, but Lafeyette is pretty darn strong. When they lose to a Manual and St. X in the past it was written off, but after that Lafayette loss they suddenly now are "way down". Right now in the West: 1. South Warren 2. Central 3t. Corbin 3t. Tilghman 5. Bell County 6. Etown 7. Henry County Those are the only teams I see with a legitimate shot. Monroe County simply hasn't became the team people were expecting and Wayne County just is way too young. Corbin is the second most likely suspect currently. Bell I am not sold on right now at all. Quality defense, but I don't see the play makers or team speed right now.
Purple88 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 ATL, Corbin and Bell County play on the west side of the bracket? That creates some long bus rides for somebody!
ATLCat Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 ATL, Corbin and Bell County play on the west side of the bracket? That creates some long bus rides for somebody! Yep. They move to the East next year finally.
Purple88 Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Yep. They move to the East next year finally. Wow, that sounds crazy to me, especially if you look at where Bell County is on a map!
