I see your point, but I still think Cov. Cath would beat both CC and Cooper if they played, JMO. I realize Cooper has a lot of players out, but to be life and death to beat Conner, tells me that Cooper isn't a top 5 team, regardless, and on CC, Cov. Cath whipped them in a scrimmage earlier this year.

I see only 2 top teams in NKY and that is HHS and SK. The rest of the top 6 I think can beat each other in any given Friday.

You can't look at the Conner/cooper game and try and judge either team with that game if you watched it. The officiating dictated the tempo of that game from the opening kickoff. There were flags every other play and the officials made that game about them and not the teams which was a shame. You ever heard the saying that you can throw a flag for holding on every play? Well that came true Friday night.

Cooper still won on the road in a hostile enviroment and against their biggest rival and also for the first time ever they won at Conner. So I wouldn't use that game to judge Cooper except for the fact they won a very tough fought game when it counted. They also are undefeated in district after dismantling a Scott team many on here said would destroy Cooper. So I have no problem putting them above CCH. You can't punish a team for winning, makes no sense.

I agree with the top 2, but would put Dixie, Beechwood, and Cov. Cath ahead of any of the other teams behind them, again JMO.

I agree with your top 4, but no way do I put CCH top 5. Look at the games they lost and the amount they lost by, I don't care about Moeller, but then again they are the ones who scheduld them so it needs to count for something. CCH got manhandled by HHS and got taken to the woodshed by a 1A team. They are not a top team in NKY anymore IMO. They started the season looking like they may be the best but have fallen mightily.

I agree with what you have said, but I truly think Cov. Cath right now, would still beat both CC and Cooper. I realize you're a Cooper guy, and I think Cooper is decent, but not a top 5 team. I think Campbell Co. beat Cooper already too, right?

First of all, Campbell County is certainly no higher than 6.

The Dixie/Beechwood/Covington Catholic situation is a tough one to decipher. Personally, I think Dixie is the best of the three. I really believe if Dixie and CCH played again next week, I would pick Dixie to win that game. If you look at yardage totals in the games those three played against each other, I think it is pretty even. So despite scores and how the games felt, they were pretty even games.

I like BillyBob's list and agree with it.

It's only SK fans that want Camp County that high so they can claim a quality win. Nobody is fooled, but by default SK gets #2. It's HHS, SK, Dixie, BW, and a bunch of mediocrity.

The same reason you say SK fans want CC up there, well others could say the same thing about why you say Dixie should be up there.

I understand what you are saying, but I think we have some other teams better than mediocrity. Hate on Cooper all you want but the only team that put them away convincingly was SK.

Yes CC and SK are Coopers only losses. I agree partly with what you said. I'm not convinced tho that CCH would beat CC or Cooper now. Beginning of the year yes, but they have fallen off so far and are in the midst of self destruction right now that I don't think CCH has the confidence in the, selves right now to beat a decent team like CC or Cooper right now. I'd actually like to see CCH play Ryle right now, not even sold they could beat them right now with as much as Ryle has improved and as much as CCH has fallen.

Cov Cath plays Ryle this week, I'll take Cov. Cath.

The thing that was perhaps most surprising to me in the CCH game versus Beechwood was the lack of a passing attack. Losing Wagner definitely hurt there, but even on the drive he led at the start of the game, it was his running and not his passing that was effective. The highly praised Cov Cath receivers were really not a factor. They were missing Erpenbeck, so that was part of it too, but we have heard a lot about how deep CCH is it receiver and I just didn't see it yesterday. Sorry, off topic a little in this thread about rankings but HB's post above caused me to think about this.

I would too but I also think Ryle has the confidence to make it a game and possibly pull out the win. I think that is how much CCH has dropped in the last couple weeks.

The way they played yesterday, I don't know of many teams they could beat yesterday.

Offensivley I think CCH WR's have been their weakest link all year. Their speed receivers just don't have the hands to be effective IMO on plays downfield. They have some recievers that can catch the ball but it's usually the short to intermediate routes. When they try to stretch the field they have trouble.

Wish I could but after the past two weeks I simply couldn't take CCH over anyone in the top ten. I don't have a clue what's going on but they simply don't appear like their heads are really in the game.

Should also be interesting to see what the AP does with Beechwood. I think they were at #7 in class A last week.
