I see Tony is just as horrible tonight as he is calling the games over at the Pee Wee field. The calls were just bad all the way around. They called so many penalties that neither team could get into a rhythm,,, he must got paid by the flag

The level of improvement Conner has shown in 4 short weeks is remarkable,on both sides of the ball. As mentioned, penalties were the story tonight.

No. Ryle beat them. It was T Elliott's last yr and he returned the kickoff to start the 2nd half off for anTD and Cooper never got the lead back.

I will also add, it's because of games like this that make this rivalry so great and continues to grow it.

 

I look at this rivalry starting in 2011 because that is the first year Cooper was competitive after being such a new school and all.

 

Since then these games have been some of the funniest games in the area to watch.

2011 was first year Cooper beat any county team and won this battle

 

2012 Conner hung the only L on cooper during their state title run

 

2013 a heavily favored Conner had to overcome a TD by Cooper in the final minute to take the lead and another drive by Cooper after Conner scored the go ahead TD as Cooper drive down the field to the 12 yd line and threw a INT in the end zone as time ran off.

 

2014 although played sloppy by both teams mostly due to the officials not allowing any team to get any sort of rhythm. The game went back and forth until Cooper scored the go ahead points with just a few minutes left in the game.

 

Series tied at 2-2 since 2011 and has been great every year. This rivalry keeps getting better each yr.

 

Congrats to both teams for making this an always exciting matchup. This is one if those games that you can throw out the records for either team that year because when they play they will garuntee to leave it all out in the field.

Oh, you're right. I didn't have much sleep when I read justdads post. I thought he was talking county teams.

Conner was very good last night, well coached and physical. I think the bad officiating hurt them even though the calls went their way because it energized the Cooper fans and motivated the Jags on the field. Cooper's D was solid on those last two drives. Can't wait till they are full strength again!

On the topic of full strength again for Cooper. It's possible both Keller and Kuchar starting linebacker and cornerback will be ready for the South Oldham Game. Kuchar's boot came off Friday night and he did some running today at practice without any pain. He is highly probable for the game. On the downside. We didn't come out of the Conner game injury free. Not going to mention the position or name but one Defensive player came out with a likely concussion.

The biggest play and official decision wasn't even a penalty, it was just horrible officiating. The 4th down play where Conner threw a bomb that was knocked to the ground by a Cooper defenseman and bounced to the Conner we who was laying in the ground and the official called it

A catch and then later on that same drive on 4th down when Cooper made a tackle to keep Conner short of the first down marker out of bounds and the ref threw a late hit penalty.

Fair enough, the catch you were speaking of was truly a catch it happened right in front of me and the ball never hit the ground.
