Unfortunately this is true in this day and age...being #1 in a lower division tells most people you should play in the division above! But still a great accomplishment for a local team.

Congrats to the Lady legends on their accomplishment! Job well done. I know they put in a lot of work, and a lot of travel.

 

To add to this and give props to the overall talent in the 2016 class in NKY, I heard today that one of the Shining Stars 2016 teams finished with a 22nd national ranking in D1. Top 25 is not bad!

Agree on overall talent in NKY. Both Sining Stars 2016 teams finished in top 25 D1 Power Rankings... Team Schwartz 16th and Team Lay 22nd.

At aau nationals in mason there couldnt have been more than 20 teams D1 -D2 combined and only represented Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and 1 other state! And not 1 player in any national ranking platforms was there unless you count (Cydney Moss) coaching. I am not knocking any of the local teams accomplishments but that's just it these should be cs liked local rankings not national by any means!

I'm not sure...do you have to be present at nationals to be ranked? I'm asking, I'm really not sure. Meaning...could there be teams in the rankings that didn't even go and the rankings are a accumulation of the year and not just the national tournament?
