This is a battle of the two of the top three of the "Super District" of Class 2A. Bardstown is 4-1 coming off a loss to defending 2A champions DeSales while CAL is coming off a 43-0 win against Shawnee.

 

Last year CAL beat Bardstown 34-6 in the regular season and then beat them again without their star QB Nathan Christmas in the playoffs 26-18. The next couple of weeks will determine who goes where in the loaded 2A District 4 with 3 Top 5 2A teams in it.

 

CAL should have their starting RB Nick Payne back for this game as he missed last week's game due to a knee injury,

 

My prediction: 31-21 CAL.

I don't think it will be that high scoring. Last year's playoff game was a thriller, literally down to the last play. The heart, of course, says Bardstown, so lets say 15-14? A surprising Tiger field goal to win?

CAL should roll. I just think Bardstown is an unproven team right now. They only beat a terrible Campbellsville team by two scores. This "super" district only contains two "super" teams. And Bardstown ain't one of them.

Christian Academy will roll by at least two touchdowns, but it could be more if Nick Payne plays.

We shall see Friday night. hope we all get back onto post Saturday.

32-24 Tigers bounce back strong!

I think along with the Colts - these two teams surely are the class of 2A. (I'm sure that will meet with some disagreement iabout n other parts).

 

I am curious what is the break down of these two teams in area of run vs. pass - and their reliance thereon ?

I know CAL will probably just barely use the run game more than the passing game if (and a big if) starting RB Nick Payne is playing. But all in all, it is a pretty balanced attack because CAL can pass too.

Yes starts at 5:30 at the school. There is also a big barbecue for the baseball team too.
