The Titans are on a two game winning streak and will host district rival Spencer County Friday night in a game that could very well determine the district championship. Spencer County is coming off a huge win over North Oldham 21-13, while Collins defeated Atherton 51-0. If Spencer County wins, they are all but guaranteed their first district championship in school history, while Collins has never not won a district title.

Spencer County has never beaten Collins but has always played them very close. All four previous meetings were won by Collins 21-0, 33-14, 38-35, and 21-14. You can be sure that this year's matchup will be a very close and entertaining game as always and that there will be a huge crowd Friday night at Titan Stadium. Spencer County always travels well, and Collins has their homecoming Friday.

The two teams have one common opponent, Shelby County, whom the Bears lost to 39-38, and the Titans defeated 14-3. However, that has no influence on the outcome of this game. Spencer County likes to run the ball a ton and Collins has a very solid defense, so a low scoring defensive battle seems to be likely.

Any thoughts or predictions?

Keep winning Collins. I know Highlands would love to meet up in the finals again for the 3rd straight year if they can both get there.

Spencer has not played the caliber of opponents that Collins has. Spencer has shown a weakness on special teams. Collins has been outstanding on special teams. Young titans are growing up fast and may have found a new weapon last Friday. No matter how good either team is, this game is always close. Coach Marksbury always has his team ready to play Collins.

Blanton Creque will be the difference maker in this game. 23-14 Collins.

Collins lost bad to Simon Kenton. Simon Kenton is not exactly a power caliber opponent.

Simon Kenton is better than every opponent on Spencer County's schedule. That doesn't mean that Spencer County won't win, but Collins has definitely played a more difficult schedule than Spencer. With Spencer's schedule it would be safe to say Collins would lose 2 games the entire year at the most, and maybe not even that many. However, Bullitt East and North Oldham are quality opponents and I'm sure the Bears will be ready to face Collins. They just don't play as tough of a schedule overall.

Spencer should just stay home the Titans by a ton! Lol

I don't think anyone is saying that. As a Collins fan I think it will be very tough to for them to win this game. If it were at Spencer they would have to be favored. At this point I think it's a tossup.

And by the way, strength of schedule will have little to no impact on this game, but I think in the long run and in the playoffs Spencer County would benefit from an upgraded schedule. Playing Bullitt East is a good start, but Spencer is clearly much better than teams like Thomas Nelson, LaRue County, East Jessamine, and Henry County. I think that playing tougher opponents will make Spencer County better and allow them to start winning more games in the playoffs as well as prepare them for a much tougher district they are about to enter.
