Both squads coming off nice district wins.

Who wins this "up close and personal" - many of these boys have played YEARS with and against each other - gridiron contest?

Conner victorious in a 4th quarter stunner last year and was Cooper's only loss before the championship in 2012.

Can the Jags avenge those losses or will Conner still have their number??

Can a mod add a poll please??

If the Cooper team that played last night shows up. It's going to be hard for Conner to stop them. We've got a couple more defensive players returning this week but still at least two starting D players out and most likely both still out for the South Oldham game. I'll go with my Jags but based on last night's win over South Oldham, I'm expecting a closer game than what I would have predicted a few weeks ago. Jags 28-21 in a very hard fought game. May both teams walk off the field injury free.

It's tough for me to pick a district game when I haven't seen a team yet.

I was talking to a few before Friday's games got under way and said Conner worries me a bit. They seem to be a team that although having a bad year they are still putting up points. They can go one half being blanked and then put up 20+ in the next half.

Coopers D really looks good most of the yr minus the SK game. If Coopers D plays like it can it is tough to beat them.

Fewer asylum candidates in Boone Co? (That should do it - you're welcome!!)
Sometimes it's just really hard to say. Gosh I guess I was wrong about this team. Although I am a bit concerned that no one has picked Conner in the poll. Don't like it when conventional wisdom all goes one way. Edited by Randy Parker

This is a game Cooper SHOULD win but scares me. Conner is much improved and do some things that can hurt Cooper. Add that to it being the big rivalry and anything can happen! Cooper must be able to contain the QB and #24 to have a chance

Conner looks like it's improving but I really like this Cooper team. How are they doing about getting their injured players back?

Starting to get back to full strength. They are still missing a key piece on defense but his back up has stepped in nicely in his absence. Very possible that he come back this week also.

Last I heard as of Friday night at the game: One player that sat out with a concussion was due to be retested today. Hopefully he will be cleared to play. That still leaves two starters on D that aren't expected back till after the South Oldham game. One of these has an outside chance of being available for the South Oldham game. We won't know that till later in the week though. The only other player that I'm aware is unavailable is our starting safety, who had the broken arm early in the season. I'm not sure of his anticipated return date.
