I called it before the season started that Cash Jones would be the QB before seasons end. He's only a soph. Next year I think Hughes will be a full time WR/RB taking Rasheed Jones spot.

Got to see this one in person! Great team effort. Southaven was an incredible team but the Mustangs just didn't quit. Cole Womack was awesome all the way around. Defense gave up a ton of yards and points, but made the stops when they had to, especially in the 4th!

What an incredible game! Each time I thought the Mustangs were done, they came storming back and showed a lot of heart. Cash Jones played a great game and I think finally claimed his spot at starting QB.

I think they wanted to use Fish primarily in the first two games against Tilghman and Mayfield because of his experience and then bring Cash along as the primary QB the rest of the season. He has a higher upside as a quarterback and has the potential to be a great, great QB. His mechanics and feel in the pocket are much farther along than a Sophomore should be.

 

Fish is also such a great athlete with the ball in the open field that it gives them a great tandem with Pooh that makes them very difficult to defend and double team.

 

Should be a great season and the next two years too.

The offense is so much more dangerous with Hughes moving around all over the field. I'm a huge Cash fan. I think by his SR year he'll be getting major school attention. Has great touch on the long ball and a strong arm.

I agree about Cash. I think he can be a better quarterback than Corey Robinson from LO. He has better mechanics already and will only get bigger and stronger. He is also a good runner, although they certainly don't want to use that as a sophomore when he can still use some more weight.

 

I'll bet that he ends up 6'4" at least and will probably be 210lbs or so as a senior. That is very good size for a high school QB and with his potential, he should get big college looks.

First of all, several personal foul penalties on SH in the 2nd half gave McCracken the opportunity to stick around. One of those crucial on the final drive. However, McCracken did tackle much, much better after halftime, which was a huge reason the Chargers only managed 7pts after half. VERY entertaining game to watch. A late and long ride back to Mississippi for SouthHaven.

Congrats to the stands! This one and the Trinity win help make KY football look better. That's 2 wins in one weekend against "deep south" teams!

Proud of all these boys!! Cash, Fish, Cole, Pooh and the whole herd of Stangs. They beat a team that I understand can compete with Memphis squads. Southaven's #8, Davis, was a monster! The personal foul penalties did help, but it appeared to me that the Chargers were frustrated that McCracken wouldn't go away. The QB Kennedy #16 played a great game but he got chippy when the defense got to him a few times. He showed some class when congratulating the Stang players after the game. This was after he threw a punch at some defenders late in the game. I thought he was fortunate to not be ejected, but I was impressed with his humility when the game was over.

 

Can't wait for #22 Morgan Alexander to come back and help Pooh and Cole on the weak side runs. The O-line gave good pass protection. The D-line was good on limiting up the middle runs but there were times it looked like the defense forgot how to wrap up the ball carriers. Trajon Bright would have killed the MCCH defense in the 1st half! He did just that 3 weeks ago in the 2nd half
