Williamsburg has good size, not huge. Good speed. They pass 80% of the time, lots of short stuff with some down field added. Aggressive defense. Solid team.

 

Based on this report, I will predict two INT's for Newport's Burton. He is a very good DB.

The only thing that will slow down W'burg is the lag of the trip. I know that really affected our legs last November. That said, I see W'burg winning by at least 3 TD's.

Williamsburg is more balanced this year, having thrown the ball 68 times and ran it 75. Griffith, the QB, has ran it 31 times for 365 yards and Massey has 309 yards on 26 carries. Shelton is their leading receiver with 341 yards on 13 catches and Lowrie has 11 catches for 293 yards.

just a couple questions for this one, what kind of size does Williamsburg have? I know Newport has some nice size on the line will this have any effect on Williamsburg? What kind of speed does Williamburg have? Are they the normal line it up and run it down your throat or what?

 

Williamsburg runs a spread and is way more balanced this year with the addition of Fred Massey running the ball...JMO but with Massey at RB and Skylar Griffith at QB this team is way better than last years...

1A fans who are paying attention will be interested in the score. It will help give insight into how good Williamsburg is.

Shelton is a heck of a receiver and Griffin is a really good all around athlete. It sounds like Massey gives them a different option to have to defend this year. Last year, at state, there main problem was in the trenches. Mayfield's DL didn't give there QB much time to throw it, but, those same linemen are a year older and stronger, so, I'd expect them to be better this year than last. Newport will likely hang with them for a half, but, I see the Jackets pulling away in this one. Scott, a top 10 5a school handled them by 17, so, I'd expect something similar in this one.
