What are some thoughts on this one? Newport is coming off a loss to Scott and Williamsburg has been winning big. Can Newport get back in the Win column or is Williamsburg going to be too much?

I am interested in seeing how this one goes. It will be a good game for me to see how good Williamsburg really is. If they are truly the #3 team in the state in 1A, Williamsburg will get a 2 TD or more win versus Newport. Newport has a pretty good team with some talented players but overall they look to me to be just a few players short of being a contending level team in 2A. It could be a close game for a while but I would expect the #3 team in 1A to eventually pull away with a clear victory. For Newport, if you want to make a statement that you do have the players and team to contend in 2A, this is a game you need to win.

Williamsburg will continue to validate themselves.

I am beginning to wonder if Wburg shouldn't deserve #2 beside their name instead of #3.

Not taking anything away from Williamburg for that feat, but most would argue that Frankfort was the second best team in the state after last years championship game. I know Mayfield fans have said that after playing both Frankfort and Williamsburg.

I'm high on Williamsburg and believe they win by at least 3 td's. They are much better than last year's team.

What have they returned from last year? I personally wasn't very impressed with any certain aspect of their team at all last year. Maybe they just had a bad game at state, I don't know. I'm seeing lots of praises on here about them this year, so they must be pretty solid.

I believe they returned starters at 20 of 22 spots. They also had a RB/LB transfer in from Harlan Co. who ran for approximately 1200 yards last year, plus their best athlete is back and playing QB after missing the finals last year with an injury.

What are your guys opinions up front ? How are both teams linemen ? Any matchup you're looking forward to see?

just a couple questions for this one, what kind of size does Williamsburg have? I know Newport has some nice size on the line will this have any effect on Williamsburg? What kind of speed does Williamburg have? Are they the normal line it up and run it down your throat or what?

Williamsburg has good size, not huge. Good speed. They pass 80% of the time, lots of short stuff with some down field added. Aggressive defense. Solid team.

Sounds like it may be an entire different look than what Newport has seen so far. Should make things very interesting
