Garrard County 14 Wayne County 7

Featured Replies

Final from Wayne co. Garrard with a goal line stand to win!

Wayne went up 7-6 in the third quarter. Garrard punted deep into Wayne's territory, pinning them on the 1-yard line, then recorded a safety just before the end of the third, making it 8-7 Garrard. Garrard then drove late in the fourth to score, pushing the lead to 14-7. Wayne drove length of the field, but Garrard held on four downs from the 10-yard line to seal the win. Good road win!

Great job Golden Lions!

Would love to see Garrard get to make the Black Friday trip to Belfry this year so the Pirate fanbase can re-pay the hospitality the Garrard Community showed in 2012 (just not the same hospitality on the scoreboard obviously :D)

This team is certainly playing pretty solid defense and have a grit to them.

Offense is struggling right now. Was talking with someone tonight who mentioned the blocking schemes are completely different under Perry than they were under Scenters. Linemen are good, but it is a work in progress. I suspect that will get better as the season goes along.

Good job, Garrard County. Statement win for them.

By the way, I listened to the pregame and postgame shows on 101.7 out of Monticello tonight and those guys do a GREAT job. Informative, complimentary, Wayne fans but not over the top RAH-RAH guys. Really made the long trip enjoyable. :thumb:

After letting one get away last week at Danville, this was a good win.

Agreed. I didn't expect this one to be close let alone you guys pulling out the victory. I'm very impressed and happy for you guys. Keep rolling!!
