It seems theres a lot of new threads about how great is Moeller, who could start at Moeller, etc.. rather than the real issue here. If Covcath is the best team in N Ky, then its a really weak year for NKY football. There hasn't been a Highlands team in 8 years that would get beat 39-0 by anyone in Ohio. Moeller must have called off the dogs too. I know Moeller is good, but I'm not seeing Covcath improved to the level that I have read from their fans on here.

CovCath had a TD bobbled out of bounds with no one around and a 60 yard TD called back for a hold. Could have been 46-14, but even with that, if they played times, CovCath might keep one of the 10 to within 21 points. Maybe.

 

Side-note, and it certainly didn't matter here, but does CovCath have a kicker they trust? If that is as shaky as I think it may be, that could be a factor against Birds and in playoffs.

Looks like Kerry Coombs (sp?) is making a difference in Cincy recruiting for TOSU. Smart hire by Urban Meyer. Hubbard, Hilliard and Hausmann in successive years. Pretty impressive "gets" out of a town that hasn't historically embraced the program like the rest of OH.

No question Urban is the closer. But, I think the Coombs hire helped Urban identify the talent he wants in Cincinnati. In other words, Coombs's local network has to help. When you have national recruiting vision like Urban does, you need foot soldiers to help cull the herd. I believe Coombs does that in this area.

 

I also forgot about the Marshall kid out of Middletown - year before Hubbard. Made some big plays after Dontre Wilson went down.

Clyde, it's nice of you to keep updating Moeller's plethora of talent and all, but man, if I'm a player or parent from last years team, I would be like "make it stop". Lol! Every time you bring this thread back to life, I can hear PeeWee here in the Hills scream.
