Go watch them. NT going to Notre Dame, they are huge and fast all over the place. QB is 6'4" or 6'5" and throws the ball very well. They are simply a different kettle of fish.

Maybe....but their kicker hit a 46 yarder with plenty to spare.

 

I was kinda kidding. Dougherty is an outstanding kicker, but I was making the point that kicker might be our only hope. Moe is really good. Heck, Cov Cath is really good and Moe made it a non-issue.

Me too. Needs to put more air under the ball, but throws a beautiful ball. That pass to #4 up the sideline, in stride, was as good a HS throw and catch as I've seen in years. He will undoubtedly play on Saturdays somewhere....as will that D1 receiver.

At the end of the day, Moeller is Top 20 in the Country and CovCath might be Top 5-8 in Kentucky. Not a fair fight.

BTW Lockland has a really nice stadium to watch a game. Parking stinks but the stadium is nice and big.

CCH wasn't going to win this game but....

 

They certainly had chances to make it interesting.

 

Down 7-0 they have a 1st and goal in the 1st qtr. Can't score.

 

Up 7-0 Moe had a 4th and about 4. CCH bottles up the runner in the middle of the line. He bounces outside for a TD run. 15-0

 

Down 15-0 and with Moe in press coverage Wags hits McClure with a perfect deep pass down the sideline. Moe guy dives for McClure and misses and McClure is on his way for a 80+ yard TD. Fumbles the ball at about the 20 and it goes OOB. CCH can't score. HUGE momentum buster.

 

CCH had some success in moving the ball in the first half. Just couldn't finish. Threw a pick on and end around pass. Dropped a nice pass on the first series. Can't convert on 4th downs.

 

With that I came away feeling pretty good about CCH.

 

Oops. Forgot to mention the 50 yard TD pass to start the 2nd half that was called back for holding.

CovCath had a TD bobbled out of bounds with no one around and a 60 yard TD called back for a hold. Could have been 46-14, but even with that, if they played times, CovCath might keep one of the 10 to within 21 points. Maybe.

 

Side-note, and it certainly didn't matter here, but does CovCath have a kicker they trust? If that is as shaky as I think it may be, that could be a factor against Birds and in playoffs.

It seems theres a lot of new threads about how great is Moeller, who could start at Moeller, etc.. rather than the real issue here. If Covcath is the best team in N Ky, then its a really weak year for NKY football. There hasn't been a Highlands team in 8 years that would get beat 39-0 by anyone in Ohio. Moeller must have called off the dogs too. I know Moeller is good, but I'm not seeing Covcath improved to the level that I have read from their fans on here.
