They got handled by CovCath in a scrimmage similarly to how Dixie was handled, so I'm not sure there is that much of a separation between those two. I'd probably put Cooper ahead of Beechwood, like they have it, but I'm not sure there is much difference in any of those 4 teams, to be honest. If you MADE me rank those four, I'd probably put Cooper, Beechwood, Camels, and Dixie, but it would be in the lightest shade of #2 pencil.

CCH... DOMINATE THE CAMELS.... by a touchdown, during 3 quarter Varsity scrimmage.

CCH played well, as did the Camels. Someone being "handled" during that scrimmage, never crossed my mind.

CCH did come out on top though

I certainly don't agree that Cov Cath handled Campbell like they did Dixie. And I don't think it was necessarily "dominating".

But it was 28-14 after three quarters of Varsity play. Then JV came in 4th quarter to extend it to 42-14.

What I saw was a Campbell Co. team that was gassed in the 2nd quarter, and had it been a regular season game, I think it would have ended up with a very similar score to the actual scrimmage final.

Regardless, it matters not in the grand scheme and is only apropos at this point because we have such small sample sizes to work with. I actually like the Camel program, like Lickert a lot (as a coach, but even more as a person), and I think they are building something really solid out there. I just don't think today that you can convince me there is a lot of separation between them and Dixie.

Maxpreps has CovCath ranked 5th in the state, Highlands 14th and SK 12th.

MaxPreps also said in their list of Top 20 Most Dominant KY High School Football Teams Since 2004 that Meade County won the 2A title in 2006, Lexington Catholic has 3 titles in the last 10 years, and that Scott County won in 2004.

MaxPreps is a useless fishwrap.
