This Friday night Garrard travels to Wayne County to take on the Cardinals. This should be an interesting and fun 3A match-up. What's your thoughts? and who wins?

Wayne having a short week as we'll with playing North Laurel and losing tonight. Should be very good matchup!!,

WC gets back to the drawing board.

I think Garrard is going down to Monticello and getting a victory. Coach Perry will have them ready to go this Friday night!

Garrard 32

Wayne 21

Will be very interesting to see how Wayne responds to their first regular season loss since 2012. The short week could be difficult for Wayne, but their game before Garrard last year also finished up on Labor Day and they came to Lancaster and won convincingly.

Garrard played better in the loss to Danville than they did in their win against Casey. Will the positives spill over into this week, or will the late loss against the Admirals cause the Lions to question if they can go to Monticello and win?

I believe this game will be close the entire way. Before the Danville game, I felt like Garrard could beat most anyone if they could control the ball, not commit turnovers, and limit big plays. They didn't do that against Danville and lost by one. The makeup of Wayne will be different. They'll be bigger, but probably not faster. I suspect Garrard and Wayne will look very similar to each other. And because of that I'm guessing it comes right down to the wire, just like last week.

One thing that could be lost in the discussion of Wayne County is how good is North Laurel? I know most people picked Wayne to beat North, but North seems much improved and maybe the Wayne loss had more to do with facing a really good opponent than it did with what Wayne did wrong.

I think that North Laurel is a lot better than most think. Coach Larkey has done a good job in building a program. I am picking GC because I think that Coach Perry will have his Defense ready.

I'll be honest I don't have a good read on how good Wayne County is right now whatsoever.

The win vs. Monroe looked really good...but I think Monroe hasn't quite lived up to expectations.

The loss vs. North Laurel was not a bad loss by any means...but I also don't know how good NL really is. They were supposed to take a step back form last year, but it is too early to tell.

On paper it looks to be a very competitive game. Wayne probably gets the edge on paper, but in 3A there is a cluster of about 7 or 8 teams who all seem to be pretty close that occupy the back of the Top 10 to about the 15 or 16 range. Both of these teams seem to be in that cluster. Wouldn't surprise me to see this one go either way.
