Let's hope the Raiders pull it together this week and learn from their mistakes. The boys need to stay positive and keep working hard.

1A ......I know you can't control who makes up your district, but tough to call a 1A school tops in NKY. Just my opinion. Truly believe if you accept $$ and take students from other school districts and counties you should have to play in 5 & 6A no matter what size the student body is. JMO

If beechwood and Ryle were to play right now, I'd take beechwood. Beechwood has been a top school in NKY for as long as I can remember. To not call them one is ignoring facts.

You do realize that NKY is one very few areas in the state that doesn't allow open enrollment, right?

The 1A argument is often used and only shows ignorance on the part of the one supplying the argument. How many 4A, 5A and 6A NKY schools has Beechwood beaten in the last 5 years? The last 10 years?

Anyone who thinks a small school can't have one of the best teams in the area just doesn't know what they are talking about. If having a big school is all it takes to have a great team then where are all those 6AM titles for NKY? Why has Highlands been so dominate? After all they are only 4A.

Beechwood has been one if the best teams in this area since the late 80's.

As someone else already stated, is take not only Beechwood against Ryle this year but I'd also toss in Boone, another 6A school.

This will be a close game, this is not last years Sycamore team.

It doesn't appear to be the much-awaited Ryle team either. I say Sycamore by 3 scores.

I agree the stronger Boone County teams are a thing of the past with 4 high schools in a 5 mile radius. You may never really see to many high caliber teams out of the area again. Highlands, CovCath, and even SK in recent years, but they play solid schedules. Do you honestly believe you would compete with a Scott county or trinity? Let me have a hit of that. JMO like or not. One thing for sure to get a trophy in 1A There isn't the same level of teams at the end of the season.

?

Huh? While not open enrollment Independent schools districts (such as Beechwood) can and do accept students from other districts. And Kenton County schools are open enrollment.

You're taking my statement out of context. A member said:

Then I responded with the above.

And, anyone: public, private, independent or county can except students from anywhere, if they want to. The school, no matter if it is: public, private, independent or county is the only intensity that can limit their enrollment.
