I think the outcome of this game is pretty simple. If Cooper's D can contain Marshall and Lamb and not give up the big plays, they will win the game. If Cooper does not come to play and allows both of them to run wild all over the field, then Boone wins. I don't think you can "Stop" both of them but if you can keep them both contained and sworm to the ball then you have a chance to win. No prediction yet, will wait until tomorrow or Friday for my prediction but I do think Cooper's D is up to the challenge and Cooper's O is getting better every week. Boone has a few playmakers that you can't give an open field too and a D that is hard nosed. Should be a great game. Good luck to both teams.

I agree with Clyde that it is too soon to accurately predict what the Rebels are capable of. With that said, without injury they should be a tougher out for teams each week.

 

I think Boone should beat Cooper, but nothing would surprise me.

Didn't say anything about "scoring consistently" it only takes a point to win. Just simply stated that there are weapons there in the likes of Diaw, Douglas, Bacigalupo, and Bishop.

 

Douglas had 2 TDs last week, Diaw 1 (with one called back), and Bishop had a couple very good grabs. Bishop has a lot of growing but is already a talent in the dark.

 

Point being, they aren't completely dependent like they were last year on Floyd and Marshall. Options are available.

I think shutting down Lamb will be next to impossible for most of the teams on Boone's schedule.

The key for cooper will be to contain Lamb. If they don't allow him to run outside and keep him in the pocket that will slow them down enough I think that they will be forced to air it out. I really like their passing game, but I don't think Conner's defense is close to what they will see against Cooper this week. We already saw what Boone did against a good defense in CCH and that is visibly nothing, so like I said, this could be the best game of the week.

 

I only wish I was going to be there to watch it.

And I stood by that statement until you decided to put every grab on Jamar's shoulders, don't get me wrong, love Jamars play, but a quality reciever who can go out and make individual plays for you serves in Boone's favor.

I will say this about this game.

 

It is so early in the season, some teams are still feeling their oats and finding out who they actually are. Are they better than originally thought or are they worse than what they were thought to be?

 

Here is where I am about Cooper and Boone.

 

Boone is better than a lot of people who haven't seen them yet are. They are for real. They won't win the district in 6A but they will give teams like Dixie problems unless Dixie really turns it around. I don't think it will even be close against Ryle, Boone should win that one pretty easily.

 

If Cooper wins, Cooper is better in my mind than I thought they would be before the season started.

If Boone wins, it won't be a big surprise to me, but it will be a great statement for Boone to show other teams in the area not to take them lightly like they have the last several years.

 

This game is going to be a great measuring stick for how good these teams really are this early. Boone is a formidable opponent and would be a huge lift if Cooper comes out on top.
