The "Platnium Sombrero", he's lucky they didn't go extra innings or he could have went for the "horn". :eek: A "horn" (named after Sam Horn of the Baltimore Orioles, who accomplished the feat in an extra-inning game in 1991), is bestowed upon a player who strikes out six times in a single game. The term was coined by Orioles pitcher Mike Flanagan in the immediate aftermath of Horn's game.

August 29, 201412 yr I heard the five strikeouts were on 20 pitches. That is a lot of whiffing!!! Dude is completely lost at the plate. After 4 Ks and the game in hand, I am either dropping a bunt or stepping in front of a fastball in my 5th AB. No way I take the Platinum Sombrero.
