August 20, 201412 yr I don't disagree with you but it is hard to understand. Take Ferguson. What are the chances that any of their elected officials are anything but liberal Democrats? Where has it gotten them so far? Race relations is not the big problem in Ferguson, political ideology is. I predict that the percentage of white voters in Ferguson will dip another 10 percent or more over the next 10 years, the unemployment rate will rise above the national average, the crime rate will climb, and Ferguson will continue to elect liberal Democrats to office. The color of Ferguson's elected officials may change, but their political ideology and the dismal results will continue. People who feel unsafe will leave town as they can afford to leave. Imagine how much blame the media would be placing on the mayor and city council members in Ferguson if they were all Republicans. The looting and rioting is a long term disaster for Ferguson's future and Democrats will promise to "invest" and help rebuild the city until the media's focus on Ferguson shifts to the next made for media disaster. Couldn't tell you. I do believe I read somewhere that Ferguson had a 6% voter turnout at their last election and in this past week people were setting up voter booths to get people registered. Based on that info I wouldn't be surprised about anyone who is in office in Ferguson.
