Look, act and most of all sound presidential from a position of strength. Like Reagan did giving the speech after the downing of the Korean airliner, his speech at the Berlin Wall or if need be, walk out of a meeting like he did to Gorbachev at Reykjavik. Not like Obama giving speeches to students in Egypt on the ills and evils of America or telling the leader of Russia to tell Putin he will have more flexibility after the election. Or Obama bowing to foreign leaders, instead of standing tall, looking them in the eye and giving a firm handshake, acting as the leader of the free world.
July 25, 201412 yr Outside of the trivial "gotchya" stuff, I don't think anything either of them said is wrong. Except neither mentioned China, which is surely the graver threat to American hegemony than Russia, al Qaida, or Iran, which seems to be what they were quibbling over. How is China bigger threat? They are years away from a blue water navy and without Russia they would be farther than that......no navy, no force projection....no threat. Add in no Bill Clinton and China would be 20 years behind what they are now. America's real threat? Liberals and liberal leadership.

I would like to hear specifically what Romney would have done. His comments in the clip show he was thinking in the right direction and I want to hear the details.

July 25, 201412 yr What was Romney's plan on handling Russia and Putin? I am curious to hear that. In what I remember from what Romney said at the time and doing some reading to update myself. I believe that Romney would have reacted differently in most situations we have witnessed in the last 5+ yr. Romney would have not have gone to Egypt and bad-mouthed the USA, he would have not bowed to foreign leaders and would have not uttered the "flexibility" line. These actions show weakness in the eyes of a strongman, dictator, bully or whatever you want to call someone like Putin. Obama backed up these actions by not deploying a missile defense system to protect eastern Europe, downsizing our military and not living up to a treaty with Ukraine. A treaty that said we would aid them if they gave up their nuclear weapons inherited from the old USSR. I believe that Romney would have touted America's attributes, would have stood up to Putin by deploying the missiles, supporting Ukraine and at least not gutting our military. If he had done differently, I would be all over him as well.
