Been a while for Trimble and if they end up the # 1 seed in the district, that puts South and Oldham match up for the district finals. Will be the first time in a really long time that either one of those teams to not advance to the region tournament. As for Gallatin- just my opinion and they could be up or down a couple spots like most of them. I think they will really miss their point guard - she really made things go for them. I agree that Dossett could be one of the top players in the region. She is fun to watch and I would imagine she will be "smothered" most of the year. Guard play will be key again for most teams - Trimble & Shelby have some serious height on their rosters. Gonna be interesting to see how it all goes.
Gallatin will definitely miss their point guard, but hopefully will return enough experience to help ease the transition. Like you, I think most of this will be a crapshoot.

It's almost cliche' to say, but really the team building steam in February should be the team to beat. Only time will tell which team that will be. Most teams that are being placed at the top lost key players. There's plenty of time during the season to fill those voids. I'd gladly exchange two losses to a team in the regular season for a win against that team in tourney play. I told FBD yesterday that I'm ready to skip football and start basketball season.

Ouch! I hope you are wrong about Gallatin. I think Trimble will be solid also, this could be the year they finally advance out of the 29th District and make some noise in the 8th Region tournament.

Trimble has been on the verge of breaking the stronghold that South Oldham, and Oldham Co. to a lesser extent, have had on the 29th district for a couple years. But can they overcome what appears to be a strong mental block that has prevented it thus far? I saw them this summer, and even though it's only summer ball, they seemed to have a different assertiveness and toughness that could make it happen this season. Only time will tell, but with graduation at OC and the coaching void at South, this could be the Lady Raiders' year to grab the crown.

Have heard a couple of rumores that SK may not be getting a transfer from Scoot due to the Freshman class at SK being full already. Anyone hearing anything on this? I know that Kenton County is open enrollment but you have to have all your paper work filed on time and hers was not.

Where does she end up then? Back to Scott or elsewhere

To go back to Scott would be awkward for EVERYONE involved???

SK is full and the BOE continues to try to push kids to Scott and away from Dixie/SK.

An athlete of that caliber should be able to find an open seat.

I agree, question now if this is true then where does she go?

would be a non issue, there's room at SK, or will be if your jump shot is clutch.

Maybe another 8th Region school?

Heard that there was a teacher at Woodland who tried to get her kids in SK from Scott. Fresh and Soph and was turned down! Would be hard to see Neace ending up at SK when other kids who don't play ball get the boot. SK will make room somewhere IMO.

Interesting. This thread parallels the "Late summer player movement" thread.

Sounds like the BOE should deal with the issue at Scott. Never ceases to amaze me. Deal with the sympton but not the sickness. Kids shouldn't be penalized for the BOE inability to keep their house clean.

Parents (or whomever on here) shouldn't stir the pot regarding a 14?? yr old kid. Good grief. Let it work its way out without throwing rumors around.

She is already playing ball for sk.

You can work out with whoever you want to during the summer months. Most coach's don't like it but it happens. I wish her the best wherever she goes to school. Fact of it is she is a very talented player and both schools would be greatful to have her.
