He made no real attempt to go to second but because he flinched the umps called him out. This play tonight the runner clearly stepped past the base and did not retouch it on his way back to first but he is safe. I certainly want to hear the explanation on that call.

I thought even though he did over step it, he was in the motion of turning around so it put it in that gray area.
July 1, 201412 yr San Diego gets one hit but wins 1-0. Great game by Latos. Unfortunately he had NO help tonight. Padres obviously pitched very well, too. Their bullpen was tough.
